...I recently brought this card of a mate. Only for a small sum of £10, so i plugged it in my pc and connect onto to the internet to download the approproate drivers and did so, then installed them. Card has in the title Rage 3D + DVD, so you think it is gonna be a 3D Card with DVD caperbilities. Well that is a no no... The card is a quality 2D card with no 3D capebilities, alothough i cant complain for £10. The card has excellent option for a 2D card, with pan adjust refresh rate adjust, and many many more features....

Advantages: Advantages - Very cheap, retailers are offloading Voodoo 3 cards to make room for newer models. Disadvantages: Disadvantages - the other cards in the Voodoo 3 range have TV output as standard, the 2000 doesn't. I got around this by spending £30 on a hardware MPEG decoder.
...This card came bundled with my PC, it's a dramatic step up from previous 3DFX cards I've owned.
There are PCI and AGP versions, both with 16Mb of RAM.
It's now at the bottom of the 3DFX range since the release of the Voodoo 4 and 5 and is therefore very cheap. However it can still cope with modern games - I play Soldier of Fortune at 800*600 or above with no notable problems.
Conclusion - It's a 2D/3D graphics card so if you don't yet have a 3D card or have an old 2D card this is a major upgrade for the price of a night out....

...The Samsung Syncmaster 19 inch monitor is an excellent display for the
price. A few months ago I was looking for a good quality display, larger
than 17 inches yet still somewhat reasonably priced (under $600), and it had to be available at a local store in my area so I could check out the picture quality on a demo model.
Running it at a resolution of 1280x960 everything is clear and readable,
however a 19 inch display should be able to do 1280x1024 as it's standard or "native" resolution - this resolution and higher looks a bit blurry to me, but that may be the fault of my video card, a VooDoo 3 3000 - great for 3D but not top of the line for 2D - a card specifically made for 2D might do a better job at higher resolutions. I also have an SVGA pass-through cable for my DVD decoder card installed, which I thought might be part...
