My sister in law first recommended Dentinox to me to deal with the nasty issue of teething with my little girl. Her youngest had virtually lived on it for a year and many a night I would see that this simple gel could turn a demon child into an angel. The immediate transformation was enough to persuade me into buying a tube for my baby. The warning signs of the rosy cheeks and the dribbling and then the mardy nights made me run to the supermarket and invest in one of these tubes.
Dentinox is one of the only teething gels that can be used from birth so if your child is an early teether then this gel is ideal.
It can be applicated in different ways - my preference is to put a pea size amount on my daughters dummy. She readily accepts the dummy in her mouth and with a little wiggle about her gums they are coated with the gel. If your child does not have a dummy it can be put on a clean finger and rubbed on the gums or on a cotton bud and spread in the mouth. All in all very easy application.
The gel contains an anaesthetic which when it touches the gums instantly soothes the pain and stops the crying! It has a nice taste and my daughter has never once objected to it in her mouth.
You can apply the gel up to six times in 24 hours with as little as twenty minutes apart so is ideal if your baby is suffering just before bed time and needs a couple of doses to settle.
The gel can be bought from all the major supermarkets and is priced around £2 per tube.
The gel cools down the gums and seems to ease the pain the second it is applied to the baby's mouth and it seems to settle my daughter immediately. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone with a child who is teething. I have had good experiences and also my friends and family have with this gel and would suggest this when there are even the first signs of teething. A definite worthwhile buy!!
Advantages: Suitable from birth Disadvantages: Tastes odd
...was suitable from birth and Dentinox fit the bill perfectly. Dentinox teething gel has a local anaesthetic action that quickly relieves the pain and soothes sore gums, it comes in tubes of 15g and while this may not seem like a lot I must say I've never completed a tube of teething gel with either of my previous children so am confident this will last. Applying the gel is simple, just squeeze a small amount of gel onto the finger tip and rub it along ... ...the pain is really bad, it is suggested that you could apply it with a cotton wool pad but I can't imagine baby would like that very much and may end up with wool fibres in their mouths.
The gel itself is not too thick that it feels gooey but likewise isn't runny, it's of a medium consistency that makes it perfect for applying easily to baby's mouth. It's clear but a slight brownish yellow in colour and the smell reminds me of basic mouthwash, somewhat ...

Advantages: quick and effective Disadvantages: none
...all of them said that Dentinox gel was the most effective. Price and package ------------------------ Dentinox Teething gel comes in a little tube which is in a little paper box. The box is white and you can see on the right a little baby in his mother’s arms. On the left there is a turquoise background and on it is written with big white letters Dentinox. The Teething gel is written with pink. I bought our latest one in Sainsbury’s for 1.47 pounds. ... ...only before he has to go to bed. He wakes up several times a night but usually he falls asleep quickly without Dentinox. I recommend everyone who has a teething baby and doesn’t like watching him/her suffering from teething pain. Advantages: Quick and virtually instant relief Disadvantages: can be hard to get off your finger
...be pleased to hear about Dentinox teething gel. This has been a godsend to me as I have found it very effective in combatting teething pains, and I haven't had one sleepless night thanks to it.
Dentinox was recommended to me by my health visitor and a few of my friends have also told me how good its been for them, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Dentinox teething gel is available in most superstores and chemists. It is relatively cheap and easy ... ...given in 24 hours.
Dentinox works by numbing the gums and it has a very pleasant taste. I know this because during the festive period I had the misfortune of suffering a mouth ulcer. In my desperation I raided the medicine cupboard and fell upon my tube of dentinox. It certainly helped get rid of the mouth ulcer, and so far it is helping my son's teething pains. I would certainly recommend this product as it can be used by the whole family in times ...

Advantages: Really works! Disadvantages: Tube can be a little fiddly
...I saw dentinox in my local boots and thought i would give it a go. I have tried the bongela before on my other two and that seemed to work well enough but it seemed to take two or three applications before it took effect. So when i tried dentinox it was a pleasant suprised when it had an immediate calming effect on him so this is one i would definately recommend giving a go. It comes in a 15g tube which can be a little fiddly when you try to open ... ...i suppose!! It cost s from £1.50 to £2.50 depending on where you buy it from so have a quick look round differnt pharmacies and supermarkets if you have time before you get it , 20 p makes all the difference especially when babies are so expensive!!!!
Suitable from birth onwards and to apply simply place a small amount of gel on a clean fingertip or cotton wool pad and gently rub onto babys gums. It has a local anaesthetic action that acts quickly ...

~*~ Dentinox Teething Gel ~*~
Relieve's teething pain and soothe infants' gums.
My son is now nearly 3. Thinking back to the times of teething… Urgh! Not nice! Joe used to have bad times with his teeth, bless him, and as a mother you feel you need to do all you can to help them. We'd tried and tested many teething gels and products including; Bonjela, Calgel and Bickiepegs Teething Biscuits. I found the gels we'd used, you could just not apply ... ...gums. I came across Dentinox teething Gel in my local chemist. I'd never seen or heard of this before. I'd not seen it on any T.V adverts either. The lady in the chemist actually advised me against buying it, and said I would be better off with Bonjela. As I'd tried everything there was to try, I bought it anyway.
~*~ Colour / Smell ~*~
The gel is a honey colour. It has a kind of surgical smell, and almost liquorish like too. I love the smell :o)

Advantages: Can work, clears up scales. Disadvantages: Sometimes can't work. Smells nasty.
and unfussy in design. The box is in Dentinoxs signiture colours of green, gold and white with instructions for use on both the box and bottle. The shampo itself is clear and quite runny it smells quite chemical unlike most other baby shampoos.
To use you have to apply a small amount of the clear colour shapoo to your babys scalp and massage it in firmly, then simply rinse the shampoo off making sure all the suds are gone, Dentinox recommends shapooing twice.
Price and Availability-
Dentinox cradle cap shampoo is available from most pharmacies and supermarkets. It costs £2.25 for a 125ml bottle.
Other products include Dentinox colic drops and Dentinoxteethinggel.
My Experience-
I used the shampoo on my first child and after 2 bottles it seemed to have had an effect, the shampoo looked to have cleared up the majority ...
Advantages: Works good, easy to use, No tears formula for baby Disadvantages: Take same time to see the difference
When The cradelcap firstlly appeared on my baby's head I was really horrified. Honestlly it looked sooooo bad. I tryed to treat it will some olive oil and than comb it but it was not making a huge difference. Than I was told by another mum about Dentinox Shampoo. And I try it the same day. It was not expencive at all. She said it works really fast. Well I should disagree that. But it really helped. It took a few weeks. But it made a big difference. And it is easy to use. Just shampoo and rinse. Much better than treating his head with olive oil than leave it all night long , than combing it. I would deffinatelly recomend this shampoo.
I tryed some other Dentinox products after that, and they seem to work really well too(like the teethinggel.) ...
Advantages: nice smell Disadvantages: didn't really work, found oil helped more
Having being used to Dentinox more for teethinggel than shampoos I was surprised to be recommended this at my local Boots when my son had cradle cap. It was coming up for his christening and he had a really bad case erupt. I had been aware of this condition before as my daughter had suffered from it but as there are 13 years between them products have changed a lot since then. I had used the teethinggel in the past so as I trusted the company and even though I thought it was a bit expensive for the size of bottle you get, I gave it a try.
I was initially pleasantly surprised by the lovely smell it had as all I seem to remember about the brand I had used on my daughter all those years ago was the strange aroma that was left. It is a bit runny and you have to be careful not to use too much so that was a tad awkward though ...
While not all babies find teething distressing, most will experience some discomfort and some will let you know they're cutting new teeth loud and clear. Teething is not an illness in itself, but it can mean sleepless nights and troublesome feeding times. You may feel helpless at not being able to give your baby any relief - that's why it's so reassuring to keep a tube of Dentinox Teething Gel handy. Simply rub a little of the pleasant tasting gel onto your baby's gums with a clean fingertip or cotton wool and you will help ease the discomfort. Dentinox Teething Gel contains lignocaine hydrochloride, a local anaesthetic and cetylpyridinium chloride to help eliminate infection. Dentinox Teething Gel does not contain sugar and can be used for babies of any age. Application can be repeated every 20 minutes if necessary.
