I've recently taken a liking to gel-type toothpaste and I was tempted to buy this one because it has unusual antibacterial micro-capsules. And it was on offer. It comes in 2 varieties: Mint (which I bought) and Clove.

It says on the box it is "Microgel CPC Toothpaste" the CPC sound very technical but it actually stands for...

 Cleaning: 3 antibacterial agents, gentle stain removal for whiter teeth

 Protection: helps prevent bad breath, cavities, plaque & tartar, gum & mouth complaints

 Care: aloe vera, fluoride, 3 beneficial agents (doesn't say what these are)

When you squeeze it from the tube onto your brush it looks really cool because it is a light green gel with little blue micro-capsules in it. I squeezed one of the micro-capsules between my fingers and it disappeared so I guess they burst on contact with your teeth. I hate toothpaste that is textured like some of the stain removing ones that you get, luckily you can't feel the micro-capsules when you're brushing.

It tastes similar to other minty toothpaste, it's not too strong but strong enough so that it feels like it's cleaning your mouth. Another thing I liked about it is that it doesn't produce excess foam when you're brushing. I only had to spit out once during brushing then again at the end. So anything that makes the process quicker gets the thumbs up from me.

The brushing experience was a bit more refreshing than usual but my teeth felt about the same as they usually do after brushing. I'm not sure if it lives up to it's claims for bad breath, I suppose you have to rely on other people to tell you this!

There is a website at www.dentylph.com which tells you all about their toothpaste, mouthwash and tongue scraper (I think I'll avoid this one!). It also has lot of info about bad breath and the causes of it, including "the lick test" which you can use to tell if you have bad breath.

It comes in a 100ml tube, it costs £2.89 but I got mine on special offer from Tesco with a pound off. I've seen it on sale in most supermarkets and chemists. This is the only size of tube I have seen so it's not very practical for travelling and you can't get it in those fancy pump-action tubes. The lid is large so it can stand up by itself which I always prefer because it takes up less room in your bathroom cabinet.

    I bought mine reduced for quick sale a couple of years ago at Boots - for about 57p, I think.. and it's 100ml like you said.. still plenty in the tube - but I use very little because I am sensitive to halogens (chlorine, bromine, flourine/flouride etc) and they also flouridate the local water and the sodium laurel sulphate which makes it foam up in your mouth makes me gag (well at least the foaminess makes me gag - lol!)... used in conjunction with the matching mouthwash, it does give fresh breath.≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{:::::|||||<</html>
