Advantages: Everything Under One Roof

First off a trip to NYC is not complete wihout a visit to Macys, Its a shoppers paradise. This store is the biggest department shop in the world so you may need to set a few hours aside to cover everything depending on how you like to shop. The shop is on West 34th street and is a short stroll to the shops of 5th ave and the empire state building, its almost opposite madison square gardens and again about a ten minute walk to Times square and the ...
...it easy to find and get to. Depending on which entrance you use depends on what department you enter the store. All cosmetics are on ground floor with all the well known names, MAC, BENEFIT, DIOR, etc at a fraction of the UK cost and from my own experience cheaper than the duty free at airorts. Ladies bags are also located here with makes such as GUESS, LOUIS VUITTON amoungst others, again cheaper than the UK. Access by escelator to all other floors ...

If shopping's your thing

Advantages: Lots of cheap designer clothes
Disadvantages: Too many clothes!

Christmas is coming up and many of you will be heading to New York for the Holidays ( or after ) and presumably you will want to do a bit of shopping. New yorks best kept secret!!

Advantages: Whole shop dedicated to shoes
Disadvantages: main store is a bit of a jumble sale

I stumbled upon Century 21 at the very end of my holiday in New York, and boy, did I wish I'd found it sooner! Packed with designer labels at discount prices, its kind of the english equivelent to T K Maxx. But alot more classy! free stuff at Kiehls

Advantages: Free stuff amazing products
Disadvantages: they can get frustrated

As you know by now I am the NYC expert. Are you familiar with the Kiehl's range of cosmetics? Well they are probably the best in the world. Its an old fashioned apothecary in NYC..located at 0n 13th street and first Ave. Their products feature everything from shampoo to perfume and it is the best. They sell in the Uk at places such as Space NK, and they cost alot...almost double of what it costs in the states...BUT the really cool thing is that you ...
...ask them confidently( like you've been there before) for some free samples of there products. They love the English so throw on a heavy accent...and ask very nicely. You can request up to six samples and d epending on the sales person. sometimes they will load you up with a huge shopping bag of free goodies!!! It really works and their products are like none other!! ...

Consumer heaven

Advantages: Incredible range, good prices
Disadvantages: Some international debit cards may not word

...one might expect shops like Saks to inflate prices due to their exclusive nature, the prices are still very competitive with other stores. A great time to visit Saks is in early September, as there are tax free sales, which can make your money go even further. There is still a disparity in the amount of departments and space designated for menswear and womenswear, but the range is incredible. A word of warning though, that Maestro and Cirrus Cards ...
