Dequacaine Lozenges

Dequacaine relief for my sore throat

I went to work this morning feeling quite bright but by 11 o’clock I had developed a sore throat my glands were up, my tongue was furry.
I fairly frequently suffer from sore throats (my weak point). I usually have a couple of throat lozenges in my handbag for such times. I looked in my bag and yes I had some. My preferred Lozenge is Dequacaine .It numbed the pain in my throat and I was able to continue working with just a mild irritation .The feeling of numbness gradually wears off and I feel my throat sore again but I do find Dequacaine helps more than other lozenge’s I have tried.

A few facts about dequacaine

Not for children under 12 years old

May be sucked slowly every 2 hours, not more than8 lozenge’s every 24 hours

Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you are intolerant to carbohydrates or benzoate preservatives.

Speak to your doctor before taking if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or you suffer from Myasthenia Gravis.

If you take too many and feel unwell see your Dr straight away

May occasionally cause allergic reactions, very rarely a blood disorder, which gives a blue tongue to lips and nails if your sore throat persists or you get new symptoms (headache, nausea, vomiting) see your DR

Each lozenge contains
Benzocaine ph eur 10mg
Dequalinium chloride bp 0.25mg
Sucrose, menthol, invert syrup, glucose syrup, fructose peppermint oil, Benzyl Alcohol, sodium saccharin, camphor.

Hopefully I will wake in the morning to find my sore throat gone they usually last a day or two. I expect it’s a germ I picked up from the kids, that is one drawback about working with kids they come into school snotty nosed, sneezing ,coughing every where do their parents keep them at home when they are ill? no most of them don’t.
Any way enough moans I will have a drink to ease my throat.
