dermalogica active moist is recommended for skin prone to oiliness and is a lightweight lotion which provides daily moisture protection to combat surface dehydration. It contains silk amino acids, and natural botanicals of lemon, cucumber and burdock with no artificial colour or fragrance.
It comes in a slim white tube - i do hate pot moisturisers they seem so unhygienic so this was great in that respect and it really lasts for ages despite the steep prices dermalogica products do work out to be quite economical over a long period. Always get your skin mapped by a dermalogica professional before purchasing to avoid all that trial and error when you start using a new regime.
I would say this moisturiser is lovely, light and easily absorbed when used with a full regime of dermalogica cleansers and toners and scrubs. When I first bought this i used it along side my old cleansers and found it left my skin feeling a little sticky (eww) and shiny. However once I started using it after special cleansing gel and antioxidant hydramist i found it absorbed fast and left a hyrdated yet matte finish - perfect as a make up base as another reviewer commented and great as a lightweight night moisturiser. When my skin was particularly oily this helped combat my oil while leaving it really soft and the fine lines i had from dehydration were not there after about 1 week of using this product.
I find most foundations leave my skin feeling dry and irritated by the end of the day and have tried many rich moisturisers to combat this with no luck, yet this light lotion really really hydrates skin and i had no creases or dry patches on my face at the end of the day at all. it just left it soo refreshed... my 50ml tube has lasted me 6 months (although i have used a few other moisturisers in addition to this) so it pretty good valuve for money I think.. also works great over the dermalogica boosters - i was using skin hydrating booster around my nose and forehead.
I would definetly reccomend this product, while it is mainly for those with oily skin if you are fairly young and skin is dehydrated like mine you might like this as well.
ooooh i almost forgot - the smell!! While I have to admit I really dont like the smell of most of the derm. products i have used (botanicals can be just as strong smelling and irritating as fragrances by the way) i really love the smell of this lotion. It has a sweet lemon-y scent and is quite earthy - a little like aveda's shampure shampoo (i havent used that shampoo in a year but i remember it smelling similar). It is a little strong but won't last all day just when you apply it. :-)
