Dermalogica Barrier Repair

...is another review about a Dermalogica product which I do like, I cannot say I love it as I think it can be easily replaced but it is worth letting you know about. When your skin is dry,especially during winter periods, and you want an extra moisture and barrier on top of your normal moisturizer, this might be the product for you.

This is another review about a Dermalogica product which I do like, I cannot say I love it as I think it can be easily replaced but it is worth letting you know about. When your skin is dry,especially during winter periods, and you want an extra moisture and barrier on top of your normal moisturizer, this might be the product for you.

WHAT IS IT?

This product is described as an anhydrous (waterless) moisturizer that just melts away in your skin. It is meant to smooth, repair any damage caused by pollution, the environment, temperature extremes, heavy make up, irritating cosmetic products, stress, poor diet, harsh detergents used on your skin, hormonal factors. The list is pretty long but as you can see this looks like a versatile product aiming to repair damage.
It contains Anti-Ozonate complex to protect skin from reactive ozone, oil of Evening Primrose, Shea Butter, Vitamin C, Bisabol and emollient silicones to give you a sofy velvety feel and strenghten the skin's barriers against any further damage.

HOW TO USE IT

After cleansing your face, toning use a small amount of this on your skin, twice a day (morning and evening). What I tend to do during the winter is to apply a bit of this on top of my normal light moisturizer as an extra repair.
The consistency is very similar to a serum, it has a light clear jelly consistency and in no way makes your face feel greasy, look shiny or make you breakout. It does not have that much of a smell so it is not over-powering and very easy to wear.

PRICE

This product comes in a 30 ml small tube, very easy to squeeze, the cost is £24.60 which in my opinion is rather expensive. It is very true it lasts ages and has a shelf life of 24 months but still this cost is rather high. This is not a bad product considering the price, I suppose if you like to stick to your moisturizer you can add this on top as an extra, otherwise for those difficult months of the year, either winter or summer you might just want to get a different moisturizer, something a bit more heavier of what you usually use.
Not sure the price justifies its purpose in this case.
Dermalogica was very difficult to find a few years ago, only skin specialists and certain beauty salons used to have it, now this american brand is much more advertized and widely available.
