* Dermalogica
Dermalogica is the skin care system researched and developed by The International Dermal Institute, founded in Los Angeles in 1986, which shocked the market by refusing to use artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, S.D. alcohol, lanolin or mineral oil. Dermalogica do not test on animals, all ingredients are eco-safe sources and products are packaged in recyclable containers. The label today is known worldwide as the "professionals' choice."
* The Daily Microfoliant
It is rice-based enzyme powder which promises to microfoliate dulling debris and to leave the skin smoother and brighter instantly. Unique Skin Brightening Complex of Bearberry, Aspergillus and Grapefruit helps to balance uneven pigmentation, while the active agents derived from Rice Bran and Rice extracts help to regulate melanin production and microfoliate dead cells. Suitable for all skin conditions (except users of medically-prescribed exfoliants) and guaranteed to work if recommended by professional skin therapist.
* Application
After cleansing, dispense into wet hands and create a creamy paste. Massage onto face for one minute avoiding the eye area, then rinse. Use daily.
* My experience
My skin is pretty dry except the nose area where I have normal to combination skin. I have to be careful with new products as my skin is very sensitive too and every try means possibility of redness and blemishes which need lot of time to heal. I got this product about month ago after my beauty therapist recommended it to me. As she used it during my facial and my skin felt really good and soft, I decided to give it a try. And so far, I can't complain. It works. My skin after use is soft and smooth, almost velvety on touch. I think that even the mimic wrinkles (like lines from nose to lips from smiling or horizontal lines on forehead from anger) are less visible. The skin feels a bit dry immediately after application as it has to be rinsed and water makes me feel pretty dry. But as it should be followed by Multi-active Toner (Spray) and moisturizer, it's ok. The only problem I am aware of is that to obtain the amount of paste sufficient to massage it onto face for whole minute, you need to spend quite a lot of the powder.

*Price
It depends on seller, the size or promotion. For example, dosage of 74gm sells for £24.90 at HQ Hair & Beauty Store. Or get the dosage of 75gm for £22.05 from Beauty Flash.
* PS
I would recommend this product to every woman dreaming about nice, clean, bright and soft complexion. But as I am not a profesional, don't forget to ask your skin therapist for advice ;-)
Advantages: Doesn't dry out skin, nice texture Disadvantages: Hard to get hold of
I had been using dermalogica cleanser and toner and found that it was working well with my skin - so I anted to delve a little deeper into the product range. I wanted a product which would make my skin feel clean, smooth and fresh while keeping the moisture in and I have to say I've found it in this.
Dermalogica products are natural and makes your skin feel good without feeling like its been stripped of its natural oils etc.
Daily Microfoliant ... ...found it difficult to find Dermalogica in the shops - which made me shop around on the internet and I have found 2 very good websites.
The first one is www.salonskincare.com - they do free shipping over £50 and the products are with you within a few days, not to mention the generous amount of samples they give too. I find this a god way of sampling new products which you might want to purchase later on or even to take on holiday with you. The prices ...

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is recommended for all skin types, to be used daily as part of your usual skincare routine. You can get it from department stores or salons, or online, so it's always easy to get hold of.
It's different from any other exfoliator I've used, as it comes in powder form. To use it you need to mix a half-teaspoon sized amount with a bit of water to create a creamy paste, massage it onto the face using circular motions, ... ...to avoid the delicate eye area.
It contains rice bran and rice starch, to gently micro foliate the surface of the skin, Papain Enzyme and Salicylic Acid to dissolve excess surface cells, and Green Tea, Grapefruit and Licorice to help even skin tone.
There's no artificial fragrances or colours, so it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, and is gentle enough to use every day. It feels really nice when you're using it and leaves my skin feeling exceptionally ...

Advantages: Made my skin look fresher & clearer from the start. Disadvantages: A bit pricey but worth it!
I had a Dermalogica facial last week and out of all the products used i asked which one the therapist would recommend i purchase, she suggested the daily microfoliant.
The entire Dermalogica range appealed to me because it is not tested on animals and seems to be pretty natural. I have never spent much money on beauty products before (the facial was a present), but my skin felt so nice during and after the facial that i was really impressed. Advantages: Great Skin Disadvantages: daily routine
Special cleansing gel
I was having a terrible time with my skin and I went to a small salon near me for a facial. Whilst in there, she used and recommend Dermalogica. I thought very pricey and a bit suspect as I know how salons work being a Hair dresser by trade. She gave me a sheet of paper which had all the details of what she used and were she used it. This I found very handy as I forgot all the lotions and potion by the time I walked out of ... ...the products. Special cleansing gel, Pre cleanse and Active moist.
Packaging
It looks fantastic nice and simple black and white print and very clear text. The lid gives you just the right amount even whilst scrabbling about in the shower. I would recommend unless you want the biggest the Wash 250ml, use along with the Pre-cleanses 150ml and the moisturizer 100ml. Like normal tube that breaks and fall apart these is sturdy and very user friendly. ...

...When my beautician told me she was going to be changing to the dermalogica range, I groaned and promptly cancelled all of my facials with her! I had heard bad reports, years before, on the Dermalogica and I wasn't going to take any chances.
Well, six months into her using the Dermalogica range I gave into to her enthusiasm for the product and booked a facial. At the end of the facial all I could say was 'wow!' The product was fantastic and had turned my oily patchy skin into a peaches and cream complexion! Over the next few months I bought the key products, cleanser, toner, mask and moisturiser, so when she told me about their new product - DailyMicrofoliant - a couple of months ago, I had my cheque book out before she asked me if I wanted a free sample!
Now you may think I am a salesman’s dream, and I buy whatever I am...

...of use are very clear and further advice is either given or available from the salon when you buy. None of the range has a strong smell and in fact many of the products are odourless.
I was already using the basics, Cleanser, toner, moisturiser, masque, from the Dermalogica range when my beautician suggested I try the microfoliant.
I bought it and haven't looked back since. If there ever was such a thing as a wonder product then this is it. It's gentle enough to use every day and unlike most other exfoliaters doesn't contain "scratchy" bits instead it uses BHA's (Salicylic acid) to gently exfoliate the skin and get inside the pores. It comes in the form of a powder and you simply add half a teaspoon of it to wet hands. Rub your hands together to form a creamy paste and massage it into your skin for about a minute. Then rinse off...

Advantages: medium wieght moisturiser, hydrating Disadvantages: pricey
...reccomended to do so my facialist. While being heavier than the light moisturisers i am used it didn't leave my t-zone oily as some other heavier creams always do.
I first heard of this when I went for a facial at a local ayurvedic salon. While they are known for their fabulous herbal face packs I was surpirsed to find they used and reccomended dermalogica products too. I left the salon feeling amazing after my facial and was given a small sample pot of the moisturiser to use by the facialist. Other products she used on my face were, aveda's botanic kinetics cream cleanser, aveda botanic kinetics firming toner, dermalogicadailymicrofoliant (i HAVE to buy this soon) and dermalogica intensive moisture balance. If you can afford it I would reccomend all these products but if like me you are bit more budget concious then opt at least...
