I bought this on recommendation from my beauty therapist. This is not something I would normally do, especially as I don't really like the Dermalogica range, but knowing the damage that alcohol based toners that you put on cotton wool and swipe across your face can do, this sounded like a good investment. It costs around £20 for a 250ml bottle, but as usual shop around and you may find it cheaper.

Dermalogica say this refreshing blend of ingredients gives you critical hydration. It contains Lavender extract to soothe and purify, Balm Mint and Aloe Vera to cool and soften, extracts of Arnica and Cucumber to refresh and condition and moisture-binding proteins to allow for more efficient moisture absorption. It's suitable for all skin types.

It comes in a white cylindrical bottle with a grey spray top. The spray gives a nice 'spritz' of the toner, covering a decent sized area, so it doesn't take loads of sprays to cover your face. The toner is a watery liquid that feels fresh and cooling when you spray it on.

I usually just spray it 2 or 3 times over my face and neck, holding the bottle about 30cm from my face, and this covers my face nicely without feeling too wet. If you hold the bottle too close when you spray it, or if you spray too much, it does feel very wet and not particularly pleasant.

Once you've sprayed it on you can either apply your moisturiser straight away or blot it with a tissue first. I usually just wait about 30 seconds for it to sink in a little, then apply my moisturiser over the top.

I do find it makes my skin feel very fresh and clean, and my pores feel more refined and less noticeable, but it doesn't strip the skin like most toners, so it doesn't feel dry or tight at all. My skin feels soft and smooth, but I don't think it soothes the skin as it claims to. I do sometimes get dry skin, red patches and soreness, and itchy patches on my skin mainly due to cold weather, and this does nothing to help soothe my skin in these situations.

If you do not like spraying toner on, it can also be used on cotton wool like most toners, but I would really recommend getting used to spraying it on as the results are much better when you use it properly.

Overall I think it's a really good toner and used along with a purifying skin regime, it does seem to help keep my skin purified and under control, but it does not calm or soothe irritations, so I have to use something else to help with that. The bottle lasts practically forever as you hardly have to use any at all, so it does work out at fantastic value for money.
