It comes in a white bottle with a grey lid. The lid has a kind of nozzle shape to it, and you have to turn the lid which moves it upwards a little to make the hole for the product to come out of. The lotion is white and very thin and runny in texture. It doesn't have a strong scent to it, to me it just smells a bit like creamy soaps.
When you put it on your skin it's easy to make a little go a long way because it's so runny. It feels really light, it absorbs quickly and easily , and it doesn't leave a film or a layer of product on the skin, it all sinks in really nicely. It makes my skin feel matte and fresh, but it has a kind of odd feeling about it for a while after applying it, like if I run my finger down my skin, it drags over my skin rather than running smoothly over it like it normally would (I hope that makes sense to you because I'm really not sure how else to describe it!).
It does leave my skin feeling matte and looking shine-free, not all day, but for a good few hours. It never feels heavy on my skin or like it's clogging my pores, and it makes a good base for make-up and seems to help keep it on for longer. My skin also feels nicely moisturised, though I must say not as well as with other moisturisers I have used.
I don't think it does help to prevent breakouts, or soothe irritated skin as it claims to, but I never really expected it to, and was just using it to control the oil, which it does pretty well. So overall I'm happy with this product and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep oily skin under control.
Advantages: nice packaging, pleasant/unisex smell Disadvantages: expensive; too runny; not a significant enough improvement in skin condition
...with the runniness. Value for money is certainly down to the individual, and everyone's skin is different, so if you think you can put up with the in-desperate-need-of-improvement consistency, give this a try; it may be the miracle your skin's been begging for.

Advantages: Clears spots, reduces oil, easy to use, can obtain samples, lasts ages! Disadvantages: SO EXPENSIVE!
money as a teenager on a strict allowance, this was a bit over my limit! So I searched around and sent emails to a few sites who claim to supply Dermalogica samples. I asked if they had any samples available for the Dermalogica medicated clearing gel, anti-bac cleanser and oilcontrollotion. One replied, sending me those three samples. That night I used them all. But this is about one of those products so I will stick to that. It was a clear, quite thick gel that smelt quite nice I thought. A cool, natural smell. After I had cleansed and moisturised and everything, I applied a thin layer to my forehead and chin, where I have most of my breakouts. At the time I had a few small spots nothing big. When I woke up in the morning I rinsed it off and inspected my face. It seemed much clearer, no spots had popped up like they normally do throughout ...
