This is a simple yet truly innovative product, and the minute you start using it, you will wonder how you ever managed without it.
Most of us (and this certainly used to be me) probably think that we are adopting a fairly good skin care routine if we follow the steps of cleansing, toning and moisturising morning and evening. For myself, cleansing used to involve a fairly brisk wiping over with cleanser and an even quicker rinse with water. I was not alone in this high speed cleansing scenario, as seemingly the average person spends approximately 10 seconds on cleansing their face. Several months ago I went for a Dermalogica facial. The therapist informed me that I should be cleansing my face a minimum of two times, and furthermore should really be taking some time over it. On reflection, this certainly made sense. Cleansing should be a very important part of looking after the skin. Afterall, if your skin is grimy and congested ,then other products that you apply, such as serums or moisturisers will not be able to be absorbed and will have little effect.
Dermalogica PreCleanse is suitable for all skin types. It is a lightweight olive and apricot kernel based oil which is fortified with kukui nut, borage seed and rice bran oils. It thoroughly disolves oil based make-up, sebum, sunscreens and environmental pollutants from the skin's surface enabling the skin to be thoroughly cleansed. It should be applied to dry skin and massaged over the area. The product should then be emulsified by using a little water. It is removed with tepid water. The skin should then be cleansed for a second time using a cleanser specified for your skin type. If you are using Dermalogica products you could follow with a cleanser from the range such as Essential Cleansing solution, Ultra Calming Cleanser, Special Cleansing Gel, Dermal Clay Cleanser etc.
This product need only be used in the evening, as that is when your skin will need extra cleansing. In the morning it is sufficient to use your normal cleanser.
After only one week of adopting this routine, I had already noticed a difference in the texture of my skin and many friends began commenting on how great my skin was looking. I now spend around 3-4 minutes cleansing my skin, which is time well invested given the rewards gained.
