Advantages: brilliant at hydrating dry spots on the face great for combination-dry skins Disadvantages: can sting if used on broken skin
This was probably the first dermalogica product I bought long long before I went to get my face mapped by a beautician trained in the use of dermalogica products.. I have suffered surface dehydration causing fine line around my forehead and flaky skin around my nose and I tried almost everything from vaseline to super pricey serums and while I was filled with trepidation when forking out 40 quid for this tiny bottle of booster fluid I am so so glad ... ...and while it might seem very light - almost water like this is one powerful serum. I use a tiny bit after cleansing and toning (while my skin is still slightly damp which helps seal in moisture) and before moisturising. Within in one week my fine lines faded and within another the dreaded and what felt like immovable flaky skin around my nose started to go away! hurray!

It contains hydraulic acid which seals in moisture and while it might seem very light - almost water like this is one powerful serum. Best of all the booster is very light you only need the tiniest bit and my booster has lasted well over a year despite using a bit every night.. if I ever run out of this I will definitely repurchase.
my only warning with this product is not to use on broken or cut skin as it will sting alot! Also unless your skin is overly dry just use on area's of the face that need the extra hydration as it is very strong. I love that I can now treat my combination skin properly without having to use a lighter lotion and dry cheeks or a heavy lotion with an oily t-zone.
Advantages: lovely smell, verry hyrdating and lightweight Disadvantages: have to use with other dermalogica products not so good on its own
refreshed... my 50ml tube has lasted me 6 months (although i have used a few other moisturisers in addition to this) so it pretty good valuve for money I think.. also works great over the dermalogicaboosters - i was using skinhydratingbooster around my nose and forehead.
I would definetly reccomend this product, while it is mainly for those with oily skin if you are fairly young and skin is dehydrated like mine you might like this as well.
ooooh i almost forgot - the smell!! While I have to admit I really dont like the smell of most of the derm. products i have used (botanicals can be just as strong smelling and irritating as fragrances by the way) i really love the smell of this lotion. It has a sweet lemon-y scent and is quite earthy - a little like aveda's shampure shampoo (i havent used that shampoo in a year but i remember it smelling ...
Advantages: gentle yet effective in blemish removal and daily cleansing Disadvantages: strong lavendar smell
I was blessed with lovely skin throughout my teens only to be plagued by acne and sensitivity in my early 20's.. finally went to a salon and had my "skin mapped" by a dermalogica specialist and was given a prescription of products suitable for me:
i finally bought special cleansing gel, antioxidant hydramist, active moist moisturiser, multivitamin thermofoliant, skinhydratingbooster and will review each seperately. This review will be focusing on the special cleansing gel.
I bought a 500ml bottle costing £35, while this seems steep it actually works out cheaper in the long run as the cleanser should last you 8 months at least (mine has lasted almost 9 months and both myself and my 60 year old mother been using it twice a day). The ingredients are very concentrated so you need literally a pea size amount each wash.
