Advantages Nice textured cream that absorbs well.

Disadvantages Not rich enough for night time use

I am very interested in skin care products and I have tried many products from leading skin care brands over the last 15 years. When a new 'wonder' product becomes available then I just have to try it.

Dermalogica products have been getting lots of good press lately and for that reason I have been trying some of them to see if they suit my skin.

The latest Dermalogica product I have been using is Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream. I bought 50mls of this cream at a cost of around £22 and this included postage. When the cream arrived it was packaged with 5 other Dermalogical samples. The samples are a fantastic way of trying products before you buy full size products.

The Product:
The cream comes in a white plastic tube. The tube has the name of the product on the tube with directions for use on the back of the tube. The tube made completely from plastic can be recycled after use.

The moisturising cream is a medium-weight cream with soothing botanicals and antioxidant vitamins and has been developed to maintain skin's moisture balance while improving texture, helping to restore suppleness and tone.

My Results:
Firstly it is very easy to get this cream out of the tube in a measured way so that you do not disperse too much and waste any of the cream. A very light squeeze of the tube is enough to disperse the cream. The tube is designed so that the cream sits above the lid of the tube, this design makes ease of use.

The cream is a very clean white colour, there is not much smell to the cream, it smells clean and fresh, there is nothing unpleasant about the smell. The texture of the cream is best described as being in between a lotion and a cream, the texture is not thick set and has some movement in it quite like a lotion.

The cream applies easily to my newly cleansed skin. There is not much rubbing in required with this cream, the light cream texture applies really well and sinks into my skin completely leaving no residue at all.

One application of the cream uses only a small amount of the cream, I would say about 1ml and the tube contains 50mls so if you are careful with the application of this cream then it could last you for 50 days, not bad at around £22 per tube.

My make-up applies evenly after using the cream and I can apply it almost straight away, the creams absorption is so effective that I don't have to wait, great for morning use.

My skin feels soft and smooth after using this cream. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. The cream delivers moisture to all my skin and copes well even with the combination element to my skin.

I manage to get all day moisturisation from this cream, it smoothes out fine lines and rough dry patches of skin, basically I think this is down to the fact of the full moisturised effect you get when using this cream. I don't feel that this cream diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, but it does plump up skin and disguise wrinkles and fine lines.

I really think this cream is best suited as a product for using during the day, I prefer to use a thicker, richer cream moisturiser at night.

In my opinion this is a very good moisturiser, it offers all day hydration, it has a lovely texture which absorbs really well and best of all it is reasonably priced, around £22 for 50 days use makes this cream quite affordable.

I am beginning to like and trust Dermalogica products, they really work well and deliver good results.
