Dermalogica is very different from most other skincare brands. As I mentioned in my other dermalogica review, it should be recommended by a professional. My local salon does free facial mapping, where your face is divided into areas and each area individually examined by a beautician. A ‘prescription’ is then drawn up depending on your skin type and what you hope to achieve from the skincare range. This is important, as many things that I have been recommended would have been things I wouldn’t have chosen myself.
Dermalogica develops products that are environmentally friendly, that all ingredients are from eco safe sources and that packaging is recycled. They also don’t test on animals.
All products are non-comedonegenic and don’t contain lanolin, artificial colours or fragrances and don’t contain alcohol that can dry akin.
This skincare range is designed for both men and women, although some products are aimed more towards one sex.
Along with the skincare range, they also offer sponge cloths for use with cleansers and also a face brush which helps loosen dead skin and prevents ingrown hairs in men.
The cleansers range also includes gel cleansers and also a soap free cleansing bar.
They have a multi active toner, which can be used both after cleansing and throughout the day to rehydrate the skin. Ideal for office workers and travellers. Travel size purifying wipes are also available.
Moisturisers are another important part of skin care and this range has different moisturisers for different skin types, and also a sheer tinted moisturiser.
Masques are also available, currently a choice of five, depending on skin type. They can be used all over face, or only in problem areas.
Concentrated boosters and specialities are also available for problem areas and also for premature ageing. These include capsules, skin brightening systems and eye creams.
Dermalogica also produce foundations, which are oil free and contain natural pigments. It I available in 8 shades, with colour correctors to customise foundations. The + corrector can also be used on cheeks, eyes and brows. Make up remover is also available.
No skin care range would be complete without sun care, face block, after sun, wipes and self tan are also available.
I had assumed that dermalogica was a facial brand, but have been proven wrong. Conditioning body wash, hydrating cream and mineral salts are also available. Treatment oils – stress relief and toxin relief – complete the spa range.
Shampoo, conditioner, deodorants, shave foam and hand cream complete the daily grooming range.
I have recently been introduced to Dermalogica when my local salon introduced it. I can only comment on the range I was recommended, but the products are all very good quality and do for me what they were designed to do.
Any salon that stocks dermalogica should be able to advice you what products to use, and also should be able to give samples before you commit to the products.

I'm tempted to give this brand a go. You can buy the products a lot cheaper on the net though than at salons so i think i'm going to give one of the little packs a go first - I've found one for £15.50. Laurie xx
Advantages: Natural Ingredients, Good Value for Money, Kind to Skin, Good Results Disadvantages: Quite Pricey, Hard to Find Apart from Online, Best Bought After Prescriptive Facial
