Advantages Exfoliates extremely well, not too rough
Disadvantages None
I have had Keratosis Pilaris for as long as I can remember. For anyone who is unsure of what KP is, it is basically little red bumps that appear on the skin. I tend to get it on the top of my arms, and occasionally very mild ones on my thighs which is not a good look at all! It never used to bother me until I started wearing skirts and short sleeved tops in public, and it was recently getting to the stage where it was effecting my confidence so I decided to ask the beauty therapist at my gym's Spa what she thought would help clear my skin up or atleast mask the red bumps a little.
She reccomended I use the 'Dermalogica Ultimate Buffing Cloth', which I researched as soon as I got home, and although I was a little disheartened upon seeing the price, I bought one. This cloth is currently around the £10-£15 mark, and when I bought mine at the beginning of the year I paid £12.50. I bought mine from Amazon and it is available on various other websites aswell. My cloth is a navy blue in colour (I am pretty sure there are pink ones available too) and it looks pretty much like a large flannel (can be folded though for elbows, knees etc or kept unfolded for my back). It comes with a little transparent bag which is handy in keeping the cloth clean and dry and protects it when it's in my gym bag or handbag from any other stuff in there so it is a great way of keeping the cloth good as new and hygienic. On a side note though, I was expecting a really luxurious bag, when in fact it is essentially a spruced up zip loc bag - it doesn't look like a bag that would be used to store such an expensive cloth but never mind!
The cloth is extremely easy to use and I use it just like I would a loofah. It's a great exfoliator and although it's effective in getting rid of dead skin cells and smoothening the skin, it is not too rough so I am able to use it (extremely gently) on my face. The cloth has been a life saver and has really cleared my skin up, it leaves my arms and legs so smooth that they almost feel like silk, and I feel so much better after a good scrub with the cloth. It gets rid of dirt, dead skin etc and is easy to clean as well - it dries within 30 minutes and can be then put back into its bag.The cloth has cleared my KP up brilliantly, although I do also use exfoliating gloves and moisturizer but I was using the gloves and cream before, so the cloth more than likely is the sole reason why it has improved so much; it's no where near as red or noticeable and my skin has a healthy glow and even tone. Overall, I am very pleased with the cloth and despite the price it can not be faulted. It is not a quick fix however and needs to be used atleast 2-3 times a week - any more than this is out of the question as it's such a thorough exfoliator. Also, after use, make sure to moisturize as it does leave skin feeling quite tight and dry.

Interesting - and actually probably cheaper in the long run than a lot of useless creams and potions. R. xxx
