I was told by the manager himself to reply to the invoice if i required any upgrades. I did this and received no reply and was very disappointed that i had not received any confirmation of the upgrades having being put in place before the order tracking service stated the item had been dispatched. Thus i received the item without upgrades even when told by the MANAGER what to do. Furthermore the company says they supply their computers with seagate ... ...not the case and although the hardware supplied with the computers is derived from those companies, e.g. maxtor has been taken over by seagate............... , the quality of the products produced by the brand name manufacturers mentioned are THE best, NOT merely just plain satisfactory. Maybe they can justify this, maybe they can't.... Live chat revealed no justification when i asked the guy i had previously been talking to quite freely about this ...

Very poor experience from the off and continued poor customer service
Initial contact was OK. Made an online order and was advised by e-mail of delivery delays due to high volumes etc. so was expecting arrival a few days later than advertised. On chasing was eventually given a delivery date which failed to happen. PC was eventually supplied very late (over a month to deliver) and money was taken from my account at time of order not delivery.
Subsequent ... ...myself. PC was initially supplied with spec not as ordered. Downgraded on processor (notified as out of stock), memory, motherboard and different optical drive to that specified. Collected and returned to base for remedy. Returned with mods but memory still wrong. Returned memory for swap-out. Then notified as out of stock of required chips. Temporary downgrade supplied. Despite numerous calls/emails since I cannot speak to the person responsible ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Mr T Muir - his attitude is diabolical .
Having read numerous bad posts and having dealt with them myself and wishing to all deities that I hadn't I ask Mr Muir to explain why he thinks it appropriate to respond to polite and legitimate emails with profanity? Mr Editor this can be evidenced in case you want to see it.
My story is shocking - spent a small fortune on a state of the art pc (well supposed to be) never worked from the minute I got it, despite going back twice and Mr Muir begging ... ...a PC that I cannot get to work. In fairness after the last return a few months back personal circumstances overtook me (twin children born), however the adaptor that was in the box when I returned it was not when I cut through the tape on the box last week. Mr Muir's WRITTEN response - "We don’t have any spares in stock. I’m surprised after all the s**t you gave us that you haven’t used the system for nearly 6 months", he then goes on to accuse me ...

Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: Non - existant customer service, rude manners on the phone.
...now changed their name to Desktop Option, so it became useless where it was, as it wouldn't be seen by potential customer for this company. I hope it will be more usefull here.
Fantastic value for money, but the customer service couldn't be any worse.
The hard drive on my PC packed up, and it took them over 6 weeks to send a replacement. 6 weeks! I called them up 5 or 6 times, and spoke to the same lad all but once. He was rude every single time. ... ...7 times, and only received 2 replies. It's frustrating being ignored. My advice would be to buy your PC from somewhere else, if you buy one from Desktop Option and something goes wrong with it, you'll have a very long wait before the problem is fixed.
