I have always paid extra for 'customised' extra performance and features on my PC's and laptops, to get a much higher specification than the 'off the shelf' models advertised. After serious problems with an awful PC running Vista, I wanted a computer built to my detailed specifications. There are several reputable pc builders that allow customers to select from a wide range of options but it was pcspecialists that colud build one closest to my ideal PC. I wanted a fast and powerful PC with plenty of RAM and storage memory but I am not a gamer so was not looking for an overclocked PC with lots of red LED's and excessive cooling fan noise. With pcspecialists I was able to specify every part of my new PC, from the case to the power unit and location of the usb and sata ports. The PC I wanted included an i5 2500K with 16Gb fast ram and Sata 3 1TB and 3TB hard drives with the WD Caviar Black 1TB main drive with a 20Gb SSD cache. I had to wait quite a while before any PC builder offered this SSD cache setup, made possible by the latest motherboards, and pcspecialists were amongst the first. Sadly I had to settle for a gaming case in order to get the front drives, usb ports and memory card reader setup I wanted but I don't have to tell anyone that it is called a 'White Dragon Rider' (obviously for the teenage market) and it is quite attractive in a geeky way. I was initially tempted by higher performance i7 chips, overclocking and higher spec motherboards but realised that this was only useful for gamers. A well cooled non-overclocked chip will last longer for my audio, photo and business useage. The build quality of the system box is faultless and communication with the company was good.
