Acer-Aspire T160
Review of Acer Aspire T160-NMB70 - Athlon 64 3400+ by
Danz0r
Advantages: Small, Lightweight, Stylish
Disadvantages: Onboard Graphics Card, Noisy
Acer have been the manufacturers to millions of computers in households all around the world, and great expectations are on them every time they release a new desktop, so does this one carry the standard forward.
Well- Yes and No.
The good things about this computer is the general speedy feeling throughout, with the AMD 3400+ easily meeting the demand for speed for todays general applications. The AMD Processor gives power where you need it, and ... ...Upgrade with another 512 Stick of RAM, Would improve performance and stability somewhat.
The down side to this PC, is that it is abit noisy, and I wouldn't recommend it if your looking for a Silent PC to be left on whilst sleeping, etc. Another dissapointment is the lack of a physical graphics card. The T160 comes equipped with an onboard Nvidia 6100 which can only withstand some of todays games. Games like Doom3 would not be able to play smoothly ...

Powerful Media PC great value
Review of Compaq Presario Media Center SR2019UK - Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz by
michaeljm20
Advantages: very powerful entertainment PC with great media experience
Disadvantages: doesnt include with tv card
The 'Compaq Presario Media Center SR2019UK' PC is a great buy. It is powerful enough to display all the media you could want and with XP media centre, you can access your music, video, radio and tv while laying back. The 7.1 surround sound has great quality and the software offers many options to tweak your sound. The DVD Writer drive allows you to burn your media quikly from either the media centre user interface, or from various other included ... ...theres no need to use cables, just slot the cards into the memory card readeer in the front panel. The only critisism is that the power of 2,2 Ghz is by far not the most powerful available today, and sometimes when using many programmes the pc can be slightly slugish but aslong as programmes aren't left running while not in use the pc handles most programmes with ease.
Overall a great value pc! ...

MESH matrix premier PC package bundle
Review of MESH Matrix Premier by
alanbishop
Advantages: A good all round PC and a great little media package to boot
Disadvantages: The newer versions have a MUCH higher spec for cheaper! My PC no problems with it
Award winning PC's. I have had this PC now for well over 1 year. It services my home and business needs and I do require a fast PC for continuous refreshing of financial markets, usually several applications at once. On the odd occassion I use for gaming (though rare) but it does not present a problem even with relatively new games. However, I certainly would not recommend to a serious gamer (but I seriously doubt hard core gamers would be looking ... ...towards mainly the family as it is a media edition. The media edition itself is actually good. Offers many versitile packages in one (though I do recommend upgrading) Its basic packages will do exactly what it says and I believe is designed to be a complete media system though I do not think it will replace the TV (even though it does have a TV card supplied).
It has a decent specification.

Advantages of the HPPavillion T770
Review of HP Pavilion t770.uk Photosmart PC - Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2 GHz by
thierry2004
Advantages: Quiet, Fast & Reliable, Plenty of Space for expansion
Disadvantages: Bulky & Heavy
I bought one of these in October 2004.
Price: £799 (including Lexmark Z1800 printer)
Spec:
2.8 ghz Pentium 4 processor
256mb ddr ram
x600 Radeon Graphics Card
15" Flatscreen Monitor
Software bundle including Microsoft Works
Windows XP Home Edition
I use it approximately 5 hours daily. It is a very quiet machine compared to some of the PC's on the market and although this might not seem important - there is nothing worse than a noisy fan ... ...(sorry glancing!) at the television. It is fast enough for most home users and equipped with enough memory to play the latest games. (it also has 3 extra memory slots for upgrading). As standard with most home computers, also included in the package is an intel mouse and keyboard and standard packard bell speakers. This machine also has the capibilites of watching television on it and comes complete with 6 USB hubs.
Audio wise - it has AUX connections ...

Looks great and does a good job
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center Slimline s7620.uk - Athlon 64 3500+ by
moorep3
Advantages: Slim and stylish
Disadvantages: Lacks some features of larger desktops due to lack of space
Had this pc for a few months now and I must say it has been great. It is small and stylish and you could quite easily have it in your sitting room and think "that looks great" every time you pass it.
It is powerful enough to handle most normal use eg. itunes, photoshop, broadband web-browsing etc although I don't think it would be the best for game play.
If you get it from one of the bigger stores (Igot mine from Cruuys) it comes with a cracking ...
