Brilliant little fun computer
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.83 GHz by
LucyB76
Advantages: No bugs, major crashes, fast and loads of fun!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any....
I was absolutely blown away by this little computer! My partner, who is a graphic designer, bought this to replace the PC we had and as soon as I got on it I was away! It is so user friendly and easy to navigate. I have learned so much through just using and I don't get irritated by it because it hardly ever crashes. When it does 'crash' or 'freeze up' it's very easy to rectify as you just click 'force quit' and it solves the problem! Brilliant! ... ...to get it working again! Yay! There is also some really fun software already on it like the IMovies and IDVD that you can create your own little movies with photographs with music and effects. It's really good fun and that's the key to this little Mac, it's fun to use whatever you're doing! ...

Apple iMac 20" Screen, 2.4GHz processor
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
MrSalek
Advantages: Fantastic OS, easy to use, fast and efficient, miniscule threat of viruses
Disadvantages: Overpriced in terms of hardware, not as much software available compared to Windows
...in this aspect.
Pricewise, Apple are always keen to exploit the market slightly. In my case, I had a lot of money which had been lying around for a long time so I decided to put it to good use. I am not your crazy PC gamer who relies on extremely fast processors, and amazing graphics card and a huge hard drive. What this Mac delivers is enough for casual use and running large programs. Although it may be slightly over priced in terms of specs compared ...

Turn your dreary life into an iLife!
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2 GHz - 20" TFT by
cstanley_2
Advantages: Gorgeous design, fast processor, fluid animations, great for media
Disadvantages: Too glossy? Aren't really any disadvantages!
...should have been!)
I also got student discount and a free printer (via rebate) so it turned out about £680 for the whole package! =)
All from the Apple store themselves too!
Blooming marvellous - now upgraded to 3GB RAM, it works like a charm!
Definitely recommended! ...

Very happy owner
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 24" TFT by
stueng
Advantages: LCD Screen; extremely quiet; operating system in a class of its own; supplied with iLife 08
Disadvantages: supplied as standard with 1GB RAM - this is not enough
There are two factors to consider when, as a previous PC user you are considering purchasing an iMac for the first time
1) The hardware
2) The software
And only one factor to consider when, as a previous Mac user you are looking to upgrade to the latest generation iMac
1) The hardware
So let's talk about the hardware first:
In a word, it's a fantastic piece of kit. Its quiet (very quiet), the screen is absolutely stunning, the remote control ... ...well, the idea of having a USB port on the side of the keyboard is a great one and again very useful, the mouse is surprisingly good for an included mouse although the buttons on the side of the mouse are in an awkward position but that could just be me
I am not sure whether I should class this has a hardware issue or a software issue but 1GB of RAM is simply not enough RAM to run Mac OS X Leopard... I found the machine disappointingly slow when ...

My new IMAC
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
jermiez
Advantages: Compact, Stylish, Value for money
Disadvantages: A little slow when opening up a number of programs at one go
Since my Toshiba M30 harddisk broke down, I decided to go for an iMac as i had been craving for one for ages!!!
As a first timer using Macs, I found the controls and mouse foreign BUT it was really easy to pick it up and I found that it was so easy to open a few programs, switch to multiple views and select which one you wanted to see. An easy example would be switching between 3 webpages where you can view all 3 pages and select the one that had ... ...a fair number of programs such as word, safaris and adium, it took awhile for loading.
Also, the graphic is not exactly fantastic for those art users or gamings although it is enough to view movies and meddle around. If speed is of great importance though, you can always just upgrade your ram as you buy the computer because there is only 1 ram slot.
For the value, I would say this is an all round Mac with the latest technology to suit most people ...
