Apple iMac G3.. its clear
Review of Apple iMac Indigo - PPC G3 500 MHz - 15" CRT by
jossie
Advantages: Compact, user friendly and designer!
Disadvantages: Pricey and 'un-customisable'
...exclusivity... the fact that only Apple make them (as I'm aware).
P.S. I've never had to deal with customer support directly from Apple so dont know hoe good it is.. they're website is very good though with loads of info on their products, for current users and for customer support (upgrades, patches, faq's etc) ...

I work, rest, and play with my G4 400MHZ
Review of Apple Power Mac G4 - PPC G4 450 MHz by
Freelancealot
Advantages: User Friendly, less virus attacks!
Disadvantages: Expensive, no floppy
...HD with CD-ROM and an Apple 17" CRT Monitor (the one on tripod feet) over a year ago off E-bay. I love it so much I called him Albert!
I spent 10 years working on computers, starting on a Wang(!), and then progressing to pc 486's, etc. I finally saw the light when I went into Publishing, and used my first Apple Mac, a 6100/66. I've never turned back.
Not only are the G4s stylish to look at, they're practical too! I have never opened up a computer ... ...half use that! If you've seen Windows XP and liked it, you'll find the Apple OS a joy to use (it's my opinion ol' B Gates has been doing some thinking).
I run a Virtual Assistant business from home, and I use my Mac for work and for play. ...

iMac G5 512 Ram 160 GB
Review of Apple iMac G5 - PPC G5 1.8 GHz - 20" TFT by
thedorrells
Advantages: Cool, great movie authoring
Disadvantages: Why didnt I buy one earlier.
...discovered the ease of the apple interface when I purchased my first iPod. How easy to use iTunes, hence did some research into Apple and video editing then took the plunge. Have had the imac G5 now for 8 months and absolutely love it. It takes a little while to get used to how to do things, but what I found is that tasks are far simpler than using the windows platform. The OSX system is excellent and comes complete with all the tools I need. I have ... ...screen! All regular experiences on my windows machines.
Safari: Excellent web browser. Itunes: The simplest and most effective music management software I have used to date. Want to burn a compilation CD, no problem. All very easy to follow and to manage.
Iphoto: Again a very simple system for managing your digital photos, and so easy to email large size files of my many photos, so the inlaws don't complain about long down load times of the mails ...

Good for the price
Review of Apple Power Mac G4 Cube - PPC G4 450 MHz by
peter_pan13
Advantages: fast,good GUI
Disadvantages: expensive, less software to support
...faster speed. For those people, apple is their only choice. If they use PC, the color will not be displayed correctly. I will bring trouble for publishing. The apple's GUI and the apperance design are all far more better then other operation system and other desktop computer. It can be called a art, not a commercial product.
So, on average, Apple is farely good for its price. ...

Second Hand Macs and memory
Review of Apple Power Mac G3 - PPC G3 266 MHz by
whyted
Advantages: Macs are brilliant, although my opinion may be biased!
Disadvantages: Getting hold of software can be a bind if you're in a hurry to play with the latest games
I am a Mac Fanatic, using the machines both at work and at home and very rarely have any problems, but I must issue warning to all considering the purchase of a second hand MAChine - check out the prices and availability of memory for the model you're looking at.
For business use, I have a beige G3 tower, loaded to the gills with RAM and as I haven't had to pay for it, I have no complaints - seriously - getting extra RAM for these machines is NO ... ...a problem and cost is comparative to that of a PC user to upgrade), but at home I have an ageing 8500/120 which I have been forced to upgrade to OS9 in order to run a game for my kids (OS9 requires 32Mb of RAM alone) and considering I only started out with 32Mb of RAM, I have had to investigate the damage to my pocket to put things to rights memory-wise. Imaging my shock and dismay when I started surfing to find the best prices (having got a ball ...
