I was outraged with MY new iMac. For a start, where's the typical ugly black and white random writing a computer is supposed to show you when you turn it on? This iMac seems to switch on without that, instead displaying a cute blue screen. What about all that buzzing text telling me in great detail something I will never understand? And why is all the software I would ever need already on there? I expected to have to BUY programs that let me burn ...
...or at least be forced to download ones from the internet that might conflict with the operating system. And what ABOUT this operating system? Why is it easy and obvious? Why does it feel like its on my side? I want a challenge, not something that helps me navigate the contents of my Mac? And why does it all look nice? I can actually SEE these icons. I bought my iMac as I my "PC" was due for replacement and had become unreliable. A few of my friends have iMacs and I was instantly grabbed by the design and ease of use when I sat in front of one. Some of this is due to the software that comes pre-loaded onto the iMac. I went for the 2GB version with the 2.66 Processor as the prices had just dropped. Where can i start with this product, its faultless in my eyes. Everything from the price to the design is amazing. You get 2.4GHz which is pleanty for anyone using this at home, but could possible by auchward if you have lots of application open. Also there is no mess at all unlike other desktop pcs as the imac only has one wire excluding the mouse and keyboard all of which you have the option of purchasing wirelesss ones. Since my Toshiba M30 harddisk broke down, I decided to go for an iMac as i had been craving for one for ages!!! As a first timer using Macs, I found the controls and mouse foreign BUT it was really easy to pick it up and I found that it was so easy to open a few programs, switch to multiple views and select which one you wanted to see. An easy example would be switching between 3 webpages where you can view all 3 pages and select the one that had ...
...a fair number of programs such as word, safaris and adium, it took awhile for loading. Also, the graphic is not exactly fantastic for those art users or gamings although it is enough to view movies and meddle around. If speed is of great importance though, you can always just upgrade your ram as you buy the computer because there is only 1 ram slot.
