Poor Poor Asus Eee Box B202 Advantages: Quiet, Small, Stylish, Eco - Friendly, VESA mounting bracket and N WI-FI Disadvantages: Low RAM, Low HDD, No Optical Drive Not very VfM The Asus Eee Box B202 is not a PC in the standard sense of the word! It is, what is known as, a net top PC. It has no DVD Drive, is very low on processing power and has very low Hard Drive space. Ok, for the good. The ASUS Eee Box B202 is almost silent even when running at full throttle. It’s very thin; stream line design makes it very attractive but does hinder it. It also has a bracket allowing it to screw into the VESA mounting holes on the ... ...space saving. It has a built in N WI-FI card meaning no dongle needed so again you gain on space! It has a gigabit Ethernet port. This PC has one of the lowest power consumption seen so far at almost 17W while idle, meaning that this PC is very Eco-Friendly, so not only do you gain on space but on cash too. A little gem, and quite a good specification for the price Advantages: All in one form factor, easy connectivity, 'proper' keyboard and mouse Disadvantages: No Wi Fi and restricted USB ports ...system altogether. Dell have every chance of having a winner on their hands though. There is possibly one reason why all-in-one systems haven’t caught on; whereas a mainstream desktop unit can be made of industry standard components (many of which can be supplied from a variety of sources) an all in one has to take the same design approach as a notebook; custom fabrication of the main parts, and have virtually no upgrade path without a complete ... ...be (unkindly) suggested that the Dell Inspiron One is a system for people who don’t like PCs. Strange kettle of fish but an ideal second PC Advantages: Minute, basic PC functionallity Disadvantages: Limited performance especially in BBC iPlayer The Acer Revo R3600 is a slightly odd kettle of fish and in some ways is a solution looking for a problem! The original desktop PC configuration; Base unit, wired keyboard and mouse, and a monitor hasn’t changed much in 25 years – unless you count putting the base unit on it’s side! A number of notable exceptions have been to create the ‘all in one PC’ which unite the processor and display – most notably the original iMac in the 1990s – Sony dabbled ... ...you may already have. iMac Advantages: amazingly brilliant and fantastic, OMG ITS A MAC ! Disadvantages: absolutely none ...it has super chic styling apple are super helpful they are incredibly simple to use and even though the price is really quite high (pc's can be much much cheaper) THEY ARE TOTALLY WORTH IT !! HP Compaq DC7600 - The Business Machine Advantages: Small, Professional, Covers Basic Needs Disadvantages: Anything more then Basic Needs and it Starts to Struggle Hp Compaq dc7600 Introduction I do not like these machines. My work has decided to purchase them and everyday between the hours of 10.30 and 7.00 I am surrounded by the menacing humming of tiny hamster churning the cogs within these towers.
