Compaq's are very reliable.
Review of Compaq Deskpro EN Space Saver - PIII 933 MHz by
Snowman99
Advantages: Good Solid reliable computer
Disadvantages: Fiddly to upgrade the memory or hard drive.
...peole. Mostly, I have had Compaq computers donated to me for this project and I can honestly say that they are about 99% reliable.
Of the over 300+ computers donated so far,270+ have been Deskpro EN series, and I have only had 3 callbacks for problems on the units.Normally a plug I hadn't pushed in properly. All the other have proved to be no problem at all.
I myself use a Deskpro EN at home, and it has worked flawlessly for over 1.5 years, and ... ...my house, and is the master for Internet connection sharing. Faultless in operation, I would not hesitate to recommend this marque to anybody looking for a reliable unit.
Any business looking for long term reliability, and a good strong workhorse should definately consider a Compaq Deskpro EN series computer. ...

Sleek computer with small footprint
Review of Compaq iPAQ Legacy-Light - PIII 733 MHz by
Uncle_Tippet
Advantages: Sleek, very light (10 lbs) machine. Customer Service good. Snap to install
Disadvantages: Few pre-installed applications. Only one drive bay. Caters to businesses
...I ended up with a Compaq IPAQ desktop. Although I'm very happy with my decision, it is not for everyone. Here's why: Quick Summary - Sleek desktop with small footprint more distinctive than the Compaq Presario home computer line. - Geared towards businesses where ease of deployment and maintainability and control is more important. - No pre-loaded software beyond Compaq's version of NT/Win2K or Win98 with Compaq Intelligent Manageability - Intel ... ...available. - 1 year COMPAQ on-site service standard (additional years available). - Multibay components (hard drive, CD-ROM, Zip Drive, LS-Superdisk drive, etc) can be swapped between IPAQ desktops and certain COMPAQ Armada notebooks. But only one Multibay slot available. - NO internal expansion slots available. The computer I bought the desktop direct from Compaq because they were offering the IPAQ running Win2000/NT4.0 with 128 meg RAM, Intel III ...

Dont buy Compaq
Review of Compaq Deskpro EP 6500 III - PIII 500 MHz by
busy
Advantages: Nice looking machines
Disadvantages: Too many faults
...faults have been recorded for Compaq machines. Even new machines have a tendency to freeze, reboot themselves etc. Support isn't bad but I do think that new machines shouldn't be giving the user any bother.
If you are going to buy a PC be sure to shop around - Make sure you don't buy one with everything 'on board'. This means everthing is attached to the mother board ie. Sound card, Network card etc therefore if anything goes wrong with your hardware ...

Presario 5221 ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Review of Compaq Presario 5221 - K6-2 380 MHz by
spoonyspice
Advantages: good to look and has got the latest features
Disadvantages: no disadvantages as such
COMPAQ by its name alone. This recent launch of the compaq company is gathered with the most recent features. Its good looking and the main plus of compaq PC's are that its got the facility of attaching the speakers to the monitors side, giving it a very nice look again. As being the user of a compaq PC and being used compaq laptops, i would sugest anyone to go for the same. It has got all recent features and is very easy to install it yourself. ...

The ideal solution
Review of Compaq Evo Thin Client T20 - Geode GX1 300 MHz by
benjamin15
Advantages: All users can have up to date software
Disadvantages: It has an low power usuage
...from the individual persons computer. Compaq evo thin client T20 otherwise known as the “thin client” for people in the trade. Compaq evo is a Microsoft based terminal, which means it has the ability to connect over a network to an operating system (server) which has a citrix metaframe software operating.
Thin client enables the server to control all applications, processing and storage. This means all applications are run from a single ... ...experience I have had with Compaq evo thin client T20 is that they are relatively thin and compact; therefore it does not take up that much space, thus allowing the space to be efficiently utilised. Also the thin “thin client” is extremely durable as not one has broken yet in six months, whereas with the pc one would be fault every week. Also the thin client does not allow users to tamper or reconfigure the pc settings, which in my college ...
