The Dell Dimension 8400 PC has loads going for it, I should know, I'm on one right now. This first thing to note about all Dell PCs is that they are not available in high street stores the main source of their sales is over the internet; this should obviously not a problem to anyone reading this review. ...can be found on the Dell site offering discounts for certain upgrades, the monitor upgrade can be purchased without any offer or deal for around £200, well worth while in my opinion The PC comes fitted with a 2.8 GHz processor, the highest I've seen at the moment is a 3.4 GHz but for a non professional there would be no noticeable difference between the two, therefore I don't think there's much point upgrading the processor unless it's for business ... Advantages: good value, basic pc for home and basic office use
Disadvantages: low memory and could find it hard to cope with newer software

I use this machine at work and it is a good work horse machine, although it is a little dated now it is still able to keep up with the latest software and add ons. However it is connected to a main server, so this machine would be ideal for small business use. Definately check it out but you may want to consider spending a little more for more memory and other enlargements. I have found that it is ok to burn CD's, present power point presentations ...
...other cool stuff. However I would suggest that this be used with a broad band connection as this helps speed things up. Very good entry level PC. Does everything i want it to do, burn CD's, surf and download from the internet, stores all me pictures and documents, plays my CD's and DVD's and can play most medium graphical games and can do several things at the same time without crashing. yesterday i was printing, downloading from the internet and burning cd's at the same time and it coped fine.
