Bang for your buck
Review of Dell Dimension E520 by
Gatlus
Advantages: Well ventilated, easy to work on, has pci-express
Disadvantages: To much crap installed on initial boot, inadequate power supply.
I was strapped for cash but needed a newer system so after some searching and weighing other systems I chose the E520, I opted for the 2.8 ghz Pentium D since the new core duo's only cost more than anything. Once I got it i threw in a new video card. Here was the only problem i ran into with the whole system. There was only a 305 watt power supply, yeah 305, not 350. The thing is it has pretty good ventilation and space internally so I'm going to ...

A good computer for a small budget.
Review of Dell Dimension 3100c by
happygolucky1977
Advantages: Excellent customer service, trusted name
Disadvantages: Dell dimension 3100 is very big and is a bit of an eye sore.
...before Xmas my new shiny Dell computer arrived at 7:30pm. I was really impressed.
Now what did stike me at first was the weight of the boxes. Unfortunately, I bought this computer before the flat screen monitor became standard but the monitor provided is very good. But this, along with a large base unit, takes up a lot of space on my computer desk. I don't think this is as big an issue now.
Now the good thing about Dell is the fact that they will ... ...the price a lot because Dell charge quite a lot for extra components.
The computer did come with a range of basic software installed such as XP, MS Works, and a good CD writer package but, again extra software cost a lot more.
Now this computer is fine if you want to surf the internet, write an email, play some music (although the stand soundcard isn't the best) but if you want to play some of the lastest games or use this as a multimedia computer ...

Dell E521: Powerhouse performance for pennies
Review of Dell Dimension E521 by
radiusone
Advantages: Speed, Value for Money
Disadvantages: Dell's Pricing Lottery,
...money as with all of Dell Products, and is easily upgradable with a simple click open case. I have had trouble with my Dimension however, it sometimes will not start up, and I have to press the power button several times until the PC does anything. This is due to a mild graphics card boot up fault and is currently being fixed. Once up and running however the E521 comes into a class of its own, it is unrivalled in terms of its speed versus value for ...

Dell optiplex advanced 745 mt
Review of Dell OptiPlex 745 Advanced MT by
sachie75
Advantages: Fast, reliable and effiecent
Disadvantages: none to notice
...Bought over from the dell website but since seen cheaper on ebay, amazon etc ...bought monitor serparately as my'n just came with a key board.
Looks good and has performed all functions well, have not used the cd parts much though. Mainly used for broadband/internet and for home working, its on most of the time for both me and my addicted 41/2 year old, who learns skills on cbeebies - so it must be relatively tough!
Not sure about manufacturer ...

Uphill and down Dell - not with this Dell!!!!!
Review of Dell OptiPlex GX520 Advanced SF by
Odysseus4
Advantages: Super Quiet and very small
Disadvantages: Not found any yet
...easy to use, then this Dell would be good for you too. For those who are more technical than me though some of the specs are as follows:
OptiPlex GX520 - Intel Pentium - CPU 2.80GHz
504MB RAM
Hardware:
HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD Drive, and
3.5 Floppy Drive 80GB (7, 200rpm) SATA Hard Drive Internal Dell Business Audio Speaker The only thing that took some getting used to is that the DVD/CD drawer is on it's side and at first putting CDs etc in was not ... ..."tower" - you can place it on it's side and then your draw would be in the usual position!
Also I did not much like the sound through the internal speaker so bought two external speakers. These were easy to connect and inexpensive and the sound is now fine. Some of the USB ports are located on the front of the system which makes life easier - especially since I download pics from my camera on a regular basis. I would definitely recommend this PC. ...
