I have owned the eMachines 770 for nearly 2years 4months, it was originally purchased as a cheap student machine. It has served me well in the years i have owned it, i have replaced the minimal amount of things on this machine, mainly the keyboard, mouse and speakers that came with it as they were 'budget' alternatives that i found very 'flimsy'. ...could be better, the keyboard is a no-frills keyboard. XP is stable but there is so much software that is not compatible that it makes the machine difficult to use. Even little things like my wifes favorite screensaver will not run under XP. This makes what is basically a good machine into a not so good machine. Dell XPS 700 I have had the Dell XPS 700 for about 2 years and its still in good working condition! Although i bought the newer verson 2 days ago Dell XPS 730!
