Evesham are First-Rate Company
Review of Evesham Axis 1333 by
DonaldD
Advantages: Excellent Customer Support
Disadvantages: Slightly pricy but worth it
...brief history as to why Evesham are a Top Class Company (and, No, I don't work for them!)
I first bought a PC in 1996 after studying the PC magazines for months. I chose a (then) Evesham Vale Platinum TX with a Pentiun 233MMX chip.
I've had a few problems with it (the only hardware fault being a graphics card which was replaced without quibble). They have NEVER refused to help with technical queries or even with general questions about my PC. I ... ...bought a second PC from Evesham - an Origin PC with AMD Duron 650 processor. That has also worked faultlessly ever since. The only call I made to their technical department was a query I had about the motherboard and the maximum processor speed I could use on it(both were answered).
I have been so happy with the PC (I work in the IT industry and have built my own PC's too) that whenever I know somebody is looking for a PC I refer them to Evesham. ...

Evesham nightmare
Review of Evesham Axis 1200DDR by
number1
Advantages: None I can think of!
Disadvantages: Loads!
When I got my Evesham computer just under a year ago I immediately had problems! The CD Writer produced poor results, the system locked up and crashed. Phoning their customer support is a nightmare. You hang on endlessly until you may if you are lucky get hold of an operator. The person on the other end of the phone is obviously trained to be rude, abrupt, and making sure the blame is placed on the user. Any faults must be the software and is therefore ... ...isn't covered, unless you use their separate £1 a minute phone line (clever of them!).
Eventually after reinstalling the operating system myself and dumping all their supplied software did I get a reasonably stable machine. Now almost a year on the hard drive is dieing on me. The engineer took 7 hours to phone me back, and of course blamed my software for causing this latest problem. He said that sending an engineer down to replace it would cost ...

Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
owais997
Advantages: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS
Disadvantages: Power/Sleep light missing
Duration of ownership:2 Weeks
Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse
Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing
Overall Evaluation:I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, ... ...peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price.Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac. ...

iMac Core 2 Due 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
autonick
Advantages: Screen, Webcam, amazing processer speed
Disadvantages: With mine the Wifi can sometimes be an issue
...I bought it from the Apple store in London, where I must say the customer service is amazing and the staff had an answer to all my questions!
Before this Imac I had an Ibook G4 which was the best thing since sliced bread, thats what made me want one of these.
The IMac is all an all in one computer, all the bits are in the screen with only the keyboard and mouse separate. This makes it great for people with not so much space.
This computer is very ... ...round, the whole unit is a sort of brushed aluminum colour and my favorite bit is the small brushed aluminum keyboard, which has nice sized buttons and a nice feel to it (ie not big and chunky keys)
The IMac loads up in no time, unlike a Windows machine and within less than say 30 seconds you are ready to go.
The screen is Massive, bright and very clear, and the graphics can easily handle online TV and gaming, I use mine to play World of Warcraft ...

ibm does good again
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8795 - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by
atytyut2434
Advantages: ibms past record
Disadvantages: poor choice of graphics port
I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it at my local auctions 2 years ago & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse.
It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with.
It might not have a ... ...games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds.
The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only ever intended to be a business machine. On-board sound is very good, the 1gb of RAM that comes as standard is more than enough for what I use it for.
It ...
