Outraged with Joy
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFT by
Hypernation
Advantages: Speed, reliability, aesthetic superiotity
Disadvantages: Price, but you get what you pay for - quality and beauty
I was outraged with MY new iMac.
For a start, where's the typical ugly black and white random writing a computer is supposed to show you when you turn it on? This iMac seems to switch on without that, instead displaying a cute blue screen. What about all that buzzing text telling me in great detail something I will never understand?
And why is all the software I would ever need already on there? I expected to have to BUY programs that let me burn ... ...or at least be forced to download ones from the internet that might conflict with the operating system.
And what ABOUT this operating system? Why is it easy and obvious? Why does it feel like its on my side? I want a challenge, not something that helps me navigate the contents of my Mac? And why does it all look nice? I can actually SEE these icons.
What about the keyboard and mouse? Why is it a nice flat ergonomic keyboard, and not the pudgy mess ...

Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
owais997
Advantages: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS
Disadvantages: Power/Sleep light missing
Duration of ownership:2 Weeks
Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse
Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing
Overall Evaluation:I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, ... ...peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price.Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac. ...

iMac Core 2 Due 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
autonick
Advantages: Screen, Webcam, amazing processer speed
Disadvantages: With mine the Wifi can sometimes be an issue
...I bought it from the Apple store in London, where I must say the customer service is amazing and the staff had an answer to all my questions!
Before this Imac I had an Ibook G4 which was the best thing since sliced bread, thats what made me want one of these.
The IMac is all an all in one computer, all the bits are in the screen with only the keyboard and mouse separate. This makes it great for people with not so much space.
This computer is very ... ...round, the whole unit is a sort of brushed aluminum colour and my favorite bit is the small brushed aluminum keyboard, which has nice sized buttons and a nice feel to it (ie not big and chunky keys)
The IMac loads up in no time, unlike a Windows machine and within less than say 30 seconds you are ready to go.
The screen is Massive, bright and very clear, and the graphics can easily handle online TV and gaming, I use mine to play World of Warcraft ...

ibm does good again
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8795 - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by
atytyut2434
Advantages: ibms past record
Disadvantages: poor choice of graphics port
I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it at my local auctions 2 years ago & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse.
It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with.
It might not have a ... ...games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds.
The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only ever intended to be a business machine. On-board sound is very good, the 1gb of RAM that comes as standard is more than enough for what I use it for.
It ...
