Excellent machine
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop dc5750 - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2 GHz by
bllward
Advantages: Good value for money, Strong specs
Disadvantages: Vista
...word I can use for HP is trust. I never have serious issues with HP servers or workstations.
This workstation is very solid looking, if a bit bland. It has a good quality feel and seems bullet-proof!
It has an incredibly powerful processor and a decent amount of Ram, which is what makes all the difference when doing work. Dare I say it, but put a decent graphics card in an you would have a decent gaming machine!
This is a business workstation, ... ...is perhaps unfair to criticise HP for a Microsoft product, but is part of the purchase price. I have found that it tends to crash and slow down at the most ridiculous times, and it gets incredibly irritating.
Rather than staying away from it altogether though, just wait for the next service pack.
Interestingly, the machine scores 3.2 in the Windows Vista performance test, which is a pretty good score for a workstation.
Very good value for money, ...

iMac beats PC for photo and video.
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 24" TFT by
Segedunum
Advantages: Brilliant screen, fast, runs Windows too
Disadvantages: Virtually none, but not good for DIY upgrades.
Introduction
I was walking through some wood on the Scottish Borders one day when we came across a cottage where we saw a Cavalier King Charles sitting on a chair in the sun, and a gentleman working on a computer. We got chatting about the dog (as we also have a Cavalier) and the conversation inevitable turn the his computer which happened to be an iMac 2.4GHz, 24" Core 2 Duo model being used for photography and graphics. The gentleman showed me ... ...me that I should give up my Windows PC and to switch to MAC for my main uses of photo and video. If I was really stuck, I was told that Mac could run any Windows programmes I needed on it.
My main intention was to leave the Windows PC for day to day use, and use the MAC PC for hobbies only - more of that later. However, a few weeks later, after looking at reviews and seeing the machine again, I took the plunge and bought the iMac - a decision I ...

ML350 *brilliant*
Review of HP ProLiant ML350 G5 Base - Dual-Core Xeon 5130 2 GHz by
boaler88
Advantages: Lots of storage great upgrade capacity.
Disadvantages: requires a professional to install correctly
HP ML350 are very very excellent servers.
these machines are very reliable and very fast, and widely used in many businesses across the UK
they tend to run best with Windows SBS loaded as the operating system.
with 5 hard drive bays you can have more than enough storage space for your company use. so you could have a maximum storage capacity of 5TB if you required it.
Dual intel Xeon capability.
Maximum RAM of 32GB if the G5 version of the ML350 ... ...a redundant Power supply into the server, it is a very good idea to purchase a redundant Power supply, this will keep your seerver Powered from a different wall socket if you primary Power supply should fail.
also with a onboard RAID controller allowing the user to setup redundancy on there data which comes in handy if the worst was to happen.
Problems with these server are very RARE.
absolute brilliant value for money and very Reliable, perfedt ...

HP DC5800 *excellent*
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop dc5800 - Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz by
boaler88
Advantages: fast, reliable, great support line.
Disadvantages: Usually unwaned software come pre installed, but can be removed easily
The hp dc5800 is a brilliant consumer product,
i currently work for a computer firm and we have had quite a few HP deskyop PCs brought in and installed for our clients.
The Hp desktops are very reliable and speedy machines, they tend to come complete with manufacturer software such as:-
- Roxio CD/DVD creator
- HP system software manager
- HP protest tools security software
The hp software is not really needed but the roxio cd/dvd creatpr is ... ...fast dependable data transfer rated over any network.
i would personally give HP 10/10 for support i have never had a issue with them.
This desktop PC is reliable, fast, User friendly and comes with great manufacturer support. Highly recommended
Thanks for reading ...

Quality, Style, and Reliability
Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by
Shroud
Advantages: easy to set up and use, quiet running, upgrades well worth the small cost
Disadvantages: getting used to Vista, but that's me
...hubby, who snagged a free Dell lappy during the AOL promo). We looked over the various models the Dell web site had to offer, and decided to customise this particular one.
I love to play games on my PC, so I was not willing to settle for the basic onboard graphics that came as standard, so opted to upgrade that bit to the optional ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card. With 256 of power, the graphics are clear, sharp, and utterly beautiful. When playing ... ...chose to upgrade to the Dell 20 inch wide screen model. With its non glare screen and easy tilt to adjust stand features, it does the card justice. Its large enough view DVDs comfortably from seating several feet away, showing nice, clear images that make my TV seem as Flintstone vintage as it nearly is, but not so large that my desk looks overcrowded or that it shouts "Look at ME, I'm FLASH!". Now, my old PC was not the most memory heavy and I had ...
