My 9 months experience of this computer
Review of Compaq Presario SR1937UK - Pentium D 940 3.2 GHz by barneso

Advantages: Good components spec
Disadvantages: FSB slow, could be prone to crashing

I bought this computer last year in August. One month before Core 2 Duo came out in the UK and just before the scheduled date of the Vista OS release. With hind sight I should have waited a while so that I could take advantage of the new OS and processor technology but I was desperate at the time so I thought this was the best valued computer in my price range. I managed to get this PC inc a 19 inch screen for £870. I thought this was quite a deal ...
...Turbocache graphics card, 2 GB RAM with 4Mb L2 cache and 300GB HDD (7200 RPM). I do think that the FSB at 800 MHz is a little poor though, compared to the rest of the components they should have included an FSB of at least 1000 Mhz. Looking at the prices now it still looks like quite a deal compared to other more expensive computers out there which have still have lower specs but will have the Core 2 Duo processors to make up for it. The question ... Read review

Best PC I have used
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7530.uk - Pentium D 945 3.4 GHz by wheener

Advantages: fast, easy to use and it has windows media centre
Disadvantages: to many included free trials

I bought this PC 2 monts ago and it was such a great improvement on the last PC which had only 256mb of ram, and a celeron procesor. The media centre edition makes it great for watching movies and freeview. The high spec of this machine makes surfing the web easy and fast so you have time for other things, I kissed goodbye to 10 minute boot ups so if you are having the same problem then buy this machine. This machines conectivity is incredable making ...
...port, a 56k modem for if you still have dial up or your broadband conection has broken and it has a fire wire port (I have no firewire devices so it is useless to me but it could be handy for you). The TV tuner is great for freeview and Windows Media centre makes its use so easy so i would recomend it to anyone. ... Read review

Powerhouse, budget gamer's dream!
Review of Dell XPS 420 by BoyEngland

Advantages: Can play the latest games, fast boot-up, reliable, runs cool, runs quietly
Disadvantages: Price is a little steep, not all games are compatible with Quad Core processors

...built XPS 420 directly from Dell which contains a 2.40GHz Quad Core processor, 4GB RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 9800GT, and all the other good stuff a computer needs. I ordered it late night on a Sunday, and I had it setup and working by the Thursday. Best of all? Shipping was free! Between pressing the power button and the computer being ready to use, you are looking at around 30 seconds. This includes me entering my password to log on. I see this as ...
...hadn't been for the current Dell offer and a discount code I had at the time. I will admit, I wouldn't have paid £920 for the system, no chance! Since starting the computer for the first time, I haven't had a single problem with it that wasn't caused by a faulty disk or my lack of patience. I would recommend it to anyone, even gamers. ... No disadvantages - so far...
Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by Stanislav69

Advantages: double proccessor, never overheats, very quiet, selection of grpahics cards, enclosed in silver casing
Disadvantages: none

The Dell Inspiron 530 was a birthday present for me and is a very stylish and new computer. This computer is very stylish because of the silver casing which covers the actual black computer box its self. Bothe DVD and optional blue ray disc drives are hidden making it look plain which also makes it look very neat and tidy. The Dual Core processor is capable of much more than it seems. All though Core 2 duo would be much better, the PC is able to ...
...that the 1.4Ghz is doubled meaning that the total output is actually a big 2.8Ghz! (reliable source - My dad who works for an IT buisness as a programer). There is also a selection of graphics cards to choose with this proccessor if bought online from dell. This computer makes little noise and is very quiet compared with my mums Packard Bell computer which has only a Pentium D proccessor. There are no disadvantages to this computer so far and I ...
