Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
owais997
Advantages: speed, sound, generous size monitor, Leopard OS
Disadvantages: Power/Sleep light missing
Duration of ownership:2 Weeks
Strengths: Sleek and beautiful design, simple and elegant operating system, wireless keyboard and mouse
Weaknesses: Power/Sleep light missing
Overall Evaluation:I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. Overall, this is an great computer. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box without checking the manual. Considering what is included on this iMac, ... ...peripheral you need to add is a printer! You sure get a lot of features for the money.Price is always a concern, especially compared to PCs. With this model, they have added more "bells and whistles" and not raising the price.Apple has finally gotten its act together by redesigning the popular iMac. ...

Good Budget PC, but not for gaming!
Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by
yatzue
Advantages: Good value, runs most common apps well
Disadvantages: Struggles with high intensity graphics apps and games
...nothing special here, quite typical Dell styling - neat and clean, but not particularly eye catching!
Finally, high intensity programs such as professional design apps and games, this PC will simply not cope! Personally I would not recommend Dell for this as, having used a number of different models, come no where close to a custom built PC for the same price. ...

HP COMPAQ.
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop dc5800 - Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz by
oki82
Advantages: PERFORMS WELL
Disadvantages: COSTLY.
The hp Compaq stunned my mind when I heard its ability to deliver proven technology. I have some influence on deciding on which type of computer hardware or software to purchase in office.
The PC device comes with dual core technology type and the dual core simply means that the PC is capable of having more than one processor and it has advantages over those PCs that have only one processor because it is quite faster and can process numerous in ... ...use for my office work. HP has proven their competence on making computer hard wares including printers that I regard one of the best in the market currently. Well getting this in my household would cost me quite some money because this is an office use. Since I am now in need of such PC, I think of making savings for it.
Its company manual description is detailed very well and quite easy to understand and use. From what I have read from the manual, ...

Great little Pc
Review of Acer Veriton M460 - Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2 GHz by
mop591
Advantages: High speeds
Disadvantages: Very bad graphics, not a gaming pc
This is a great pc for business. Its 2.2Ghx dual core cpu (4.4Ghx total speed) with a 2mb Cache combined with the 1GB of RAM provides a very fast, reliable machine able to cope with many demanding programs running at one time. It also comes with microsoft office 2007 and windows xp software included and with a 160GB hard drive to store all your data.
Despite its power to cope with many programs it is very poor if you are looking for a gaming pc, ...

Outraged with Joy
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFT by
Hypernation
Advantages: Speed, reliability, aesthetic superiotity
Disadvantages: Price, but you get what you pay for - quality and beauty
I was outraged with MY new iMac.
For a start, where's the typical ugly black and white random writing a computer is supposed to show you when you turn it on? This iMac seems to switch on without that, instead displaying a cute blue screen. What about all that buzzing text telling me in great detail something I will never understand?
And why is all the software I would ever need already on there? I expected to have to BUY programs that let me burn ... ...or at least be forced to download ones from the internet that might conflict with the operating system.
And what ABOUT this operating system? Why is it easy and obvious? Why does it feel like its on my side? I want a challenge, not something that helps me navigate the contents of my Mac? And why does it all look nice? I can actually SEE these icons.
What about the keyboard and mouse? Why is it a nice flat ergonomic keyboard, and not the pudgy mess ...
