Modern, well implemented Media Center
Review of Acer Aspire iDea 510 - Core 2 Duo T5500 by
Rogerpjr
Advantages: Looks SHARP!!! Has almost everything "IN THERE" (TV, FM,++)
Disadvantages: Not too user servicable.. but then we haven't had problems. Sooo...
...I give kudos to the Acer Group. The Aspire 510 is one we can place in our customers homes. Set it up. Teach the nuances of it and how Media Center works, and move on to the next customer. NO call-back thus far for hardware-related issues. I came about this unit quite by accident. I can't build units fast enough. And we needed a supplier reliable enough to take the strain off of me. Yet one that could think outside of the box and provide us with forward ... ...a time if need be. Acer kept coming up at or near the top of the list. Their Aspire 510 has won awards from third parties that have like me, have no ax to grind. Business is business. Crashes... none. Lock-up none thus far. Problems..... No. Suggestions..... We would like Acer to spec the Aspire 510 with more (2 gigs ) memory STANDARD for Vista. But that is not a deal breaker. The Dual core T5500 is plenty fast!!! And a recent release. Cool, yet ...

Is it a good quality desktop computer?
Review of Compaq Presario Media Center SR2029UK - Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz by
RossDud
Advantages: High quality desktop computer, good graphics and excellent memory.
Disadvantages: Its ability to play games is average.
The compaq presario desktop computer was bought for me for christmas 2006. I desperately needed a brand new computer that allowed me to do my college work on and had a good memory so i could save lots of work on it. The compaq presario cost my parents £399 and that is not including all the accessories that i needed with it. I would say that it was worth the money because it has enabled me to fully do my college work and it has the capacity to hold ... ...there are always start-up problems/teething problems at first. However these are nothing and do not affect the computer in any way. Appearance wise the comapq is very attractive and fits well on your desk and does not take up 2 much space. It has 7 usb ports and has a free expansion bay where you could have another cd rom drive built in if you wished. It currently has a cd-writer which makes gd quality music cd's and film dvd's. One problem with ...

Powerhouse, budget gamer's dream!
Review of Dell XPS 420 by
BoyEngland
Advantages: Can play the latest games, fast boot-up, reliable, runs cool, runs quietly
Disadvantages: Price is a little steep, not all games are compatible with Quad Core processors
...built XPS 420 directly from Dell which contains a 2.40GHz Quad Core processor, 4GB RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 9800GT, and all the other good stuff a computer needs. I ordered it late night on a Sunday, and I had it setup and working by the Thursday. Best of all? Shipping was free!
Between pressing the power button and the computer being ready to use, you are looking at around 30 seconds. This includes me entering my password to log on. I see this as ... ...hadn't been for the current Dell offer and a discount code I had at the time. I will admit, I wouldn't have paid £920 for the system, no chance!
Since starting the computer for the first time, I haven't had a single problem with it that wasn't caused by a faulty disk or my lack of patience. I would recommend it to anyone, even gamers. ...

No disadvantages - so far...
Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by
Stanislav69
Advantages: double proccessor, never overheats, very quiet, selection of grpahics cards, enclosed in silver casing
Disadvantages: none
The Dell Inspiron 530 was a birthday present for me and is a very stylish and new computer.
This computer is very stylish because of the silver casing which covers the actual black computer box its self. Bothe DVD and optional blue ray disc drives are hidden making it look plain which also makes it look very neat and tidy. The Dual Core processor is capable of much more than it seems. All though Core 2 duo would be much better, the PC is able to ... ...that the 1.4Ghz is doubled meaning that the total output is actually a big 2.8Ghz! (reliable source - My dad who works for an IT buisness as a programer). There is also a selection of graphics cards to choose with this proccessor if bought online from dell. This computer makes little noise and is very quiet compared with my mums Packard Bell computer which has only a Pentium D proccessor.
There are no disadvantages to this computer so far and I ...
