Excellent PC for everyday family use.
Review of Compaq Presario SR1819UK - Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz by LADYFUCHSIA

Advantages: Easy to set up and navigate around screens.
Disadvantages: Not as fast as more expensive options.

I bought this PC early this year and bought it as a package deal with monitor/scanner/speakers. I do think it was a tad expensive, however, I have been extremely pleased with its performance. Due to working in graphics I had always used Apple Mac's and friends had wondered why I was going for a PC. But I had a lot of trouble with my last Mac and could never find people to help repair it as they are so specialised. At the moment I mainly use this ...
...video footage and worked on my website using a variety of software. I find it extremely fast and hardly never freezes on me. The windows vista OS that came with it is also very easy to understand, however, my printer has not been compatible with Vista and I havent been able to download a driver from Epson. The tower section is large but quite light so I carried the PC up 4 flights of stairs to my flat. The keyboard is very slim and attractive in ... Read review

A great PC for a low cost.
Review of Compaq Presario SR1705UK - Celeron D 346 3.06 GHz by Reinheart

Advantages: Cheap high spec computer, easily upgradable
Disadvantages: Onboard shared graphics, misleading advertising

When I brought this PC I was updating from a very old pentium 2. I only had a £300 budget and was expecting to get a computer in the mid range spectrum, around 2.4gig 256mb of Ram. Basically a word processor. So I was very surprised when I was able to get a 3.06ghz machine with 512mb RAM with 80GB of memory. Not only that but it came with all inbuilt software. I have microsoft works, Real Player, Windows XP and lots of other software bundles with ...
...of hundred pounds. The computer was quick enough when I first brought it but I have to admit that since uploading games etc it slowed down considerably, I have since upgraded to 1GB Ram which now has my computer running super speed. I have loaded Rome and Medieval total war, Dawn of War, The Movies as well as 230 hours of Music and the machine is still running very quickly. All the instructions (other then assembly) are found already stored on ... Read review

Great for general use
Review of Compaq Presario SR1909UK - Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz by harry_harrod

Advantages: CHEAP, 64 BIT, VISTA CAPABLE
Disadvantages: GRAPHICS

Purchasing this was a bit of an impulse buy for me, i had just been paid and i wanted a new PC, when i saw this i thought what a great spec it was for the money. £288 is all i paid for it. That is including staff discount so to the average buyer it would be £320. Still a great price to pay for a PC like this. I was not bothered that it didnt come with a monitor because i had one spare, but for those who dont, make sure u buy a monitor as well, or ...
...impressed that it is a 64bit athlon and that is is capable of running vista. The onboard graphics are a bit of a let down but after a payment of £65 i received a beautiful mid range graphics card to improve performance, i love games!!! Also now it is capable of running vista ultimate which i will be buying 1. when i have the money and 2. when i have bought some more memory for it. i could now really do with removing some of the crap i've put on it ... iMac Core 2 Due 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by autonick

Advantages: Screen, Webcam, amazing processer speed
Disadvantages: With mine the Wifi can sometimes be an issue

...I bought it from the Apple store in London, where I must say the customer service is amazing and the staff had an answer to all my questions! Before this Imac I had an Ibook G4 which was the best thing since sliced bread, thats what made me want one of these. The IMac is all an all in one computer, all the bits are in the screen with only the keyboard and mouse separate. This makes it great for people with not so much space. This computer is very ...
...round, the whole unit is a sort of brushed aluminum colour and my favorite bit is the small brushed aluminum keyboard, which has nice sized buttons and a nice feel to it (ie not big and chunky keys) The IMac loads up in no time, unlike a Windows machine and within less than say 30 seconds you are ready to go. The screen is Massive, bright and very clear, and the graphics can easily handle online TV and gaming, I use mine to play World of Warcraft ... Read review

ibm does good again
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8795 - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by atytyut2434

Advantages: ibms past record
Disadvantages: poor choice of graphics port

I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it at my local auctions 2 years ago & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse. It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with. It might not have a ...
...games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds. The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only ever intended to be a business machine. On-board sound is very good, the 1gb of RAM that comes as standard is more than enough for what I use it for. It ... Read review
