The Relyable Slow Scenic
Review of Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC xSi - PIII 600 MHz by
jonshannow
Advantages: Hard working
Disadvantages: Slow
For those looking for an informed opinion, let me just give you a little of my background experience with the Scenic. I run a network which has 500 Scenic workstations. The network is spread over three sites and these workstations have rarely been switched off in four years.
Good Points:
The Scenic is robust and hard working. In the four years using the Scenic only 5 have failed. The simple and straight forward architecture makes repair and upgrade ... ...We have the Pentium II 400 and Pentium III 500 versions and all have problems with caching times. This has largely been put down to the low Wattage power supply. Also there have been a high number of functionality problems with the Matrox Graphic Adapters. Overall the Scenic is a relyable computer. If you are looking for a no frills working computer then this computer is ok. However if you are looking for a computer for any graphical work, the Scenic ...

Not a good experience
Review of Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC xSp - PIII 550 MHz by
janjuha
Advantages: Nil
Disadvantages: A lot.
I have purchased Siemens Senic 500 PC on line through Jungle.com about 7 months ago. Within two months time period, it started giving trouble and getting chocked at its own will. Apart from other difficulties being faced one major problem was that it was not accepting installation of other softwares on it. I contacted the jungle.com and reported the poor performance of the PC and they replied that they are no more responsibile for the system and ... ...the manufacturers and their reply was quite amazing. They told that they would charge extra money for sending their Engineer for the inspection. The replacement of any par would also be my responsibility. I have to change the mother board and the whole system with an extra money. I would never recommend the system to any of my friend. I would also like to convince my friends not to purchase any PC on line specially through jungle.com They are the ...

The Optiplex, small but still reliable.
Review of Dell OptiPlex GX270 SFF Chassis by
ishralene09
Advantages: Small, SATA compatibility, Affordable
Disadvantages: Not much option for upgrades and expansions
...custom computer. Good thing the Dell has a SATA port. And then it's portable. When we're about to present our thesis, we had no problems with carrying it, it's like carrying a bulkier laptop. And it really delivers.
For your basic needs, you can rely on the Dell Optiplex GX270 SFF. It will deliver. ...

apple mac
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFT by
coneill3
Advantages: speed ,power,Design
Disadvantages: value for money
...were released. As soon as Apple released the updated Mac Pro in January, I picked one up. After using the iMac for so long, the Mac Pro was like a breath of fresh air. This machine is crazy fast. I loaded 10 GB of RAM into it and can pretty much have all my design apps open (mainly CS3) as well as run Parallels at the same time. I could never do this with the iMac. Overall, I'd recommend the Mac Pro to design professionals looking to run lots of ... ...You'll have to deal with the strange rebooting problem I mentioned above but I don't think it's a deal breaker. I've gotten around this by either shutting my machine down when I'm gone for long periods of time or setting the sleep cycle to never. It's not a great solution (I can't save electricity this way) but I think it's worth it for the power of this machine. ...
