When I brought this PC I was updating from a very old pentium 2. I only had a £300 budget and was expecting to get a computer in the mid range spectrum, around 2.4gig 256mb of Ram. Basically a word processor. So I was very surprised when I was able to get a 3.06ghz machine with 512mb RAM with 80GB of memory. Not only that but it came with all inbuilt software. The computer was quick enough when I first brought it but I have to admit that since uploading games etc it slowed down considerably, I have since upgraded to 1GB Ram which now has my computer running super speed. Disadvantages: Can be sluggish but most of the time is ok

I brought this brand new from Comet a year ago and have found it to be a bargin really. I know you can buy a computer from Pc world, Dixons and it would be fine but i got a sense that it is a quality product. I find the 6 Usb ports and the 56k modem inside to be useful for using my printer, scanner etc with no trouble. The tv card is useful for recording precious moments off tape, DV input and S video. Dell XPS 700 I have had the Dell XPS 700 for about 2 years and its still in good working condition! Although i bought the newer verson 2 days ago Dell XPS 730! ...nothing special here, quite typical Dell styling - neat and clean, but not particularly eye catching! Finally, high intensity programs such as professional design apps and games, this PC will simply not cope!
