Brilliant BRIO
Review of HP Brio BA410 - PIII 800 MHz by Twigsby

Advantages: Cheap, fast, stable, AGP slot
Disadvantages: Limited upgrade potential

...* Scroll mouse * HP recovery CD, Drivers CD * 3 year warranty – First year next business day onsite There are plenty of variants that can be selected e.g. with or without Word, Celeron or PIII processors, with or without modem or LAN card etc etc. I think the price is a bargain. For this kind of specification, I simply could not find a better priced PC. The nearest rival would be either some of the Fujitsu lines or the Maxdata - but these ...
...very nice touch is the HP system recovery CD. This allows you to restore the whole system to its original "out of the box" state in something like 30 minutes (remember to back up your data first) which will be a godsend for those of us in a habit of overloading their systems to the point that a fresh install is required. The initial set up also has an HP diagnostic partition which is accessible on boot up. Again a nice touch, but of more limited ... Read review

Comapq d530 USDT
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 Ultra-Slim - P4 2.66 GHz by judson

Advantages: Slim, Optional Stand, Fast
Disadvantages: Only 1 PCI Slot

In all the Compaq d530 USDT is a lovely machine to work on and to support, its slim design limits the amount of deskspace required and also the option of standing it up like a bookend is also another very appealing feature. The machine in general comes with a very fast Pentium 4 2.4ghz dual processor, 256 MB Ram (min) and at least a 40gb hard drive, so there is alot of nice components inside. The only thing that this type of compaq lacks is additional ...
...all so if you wanted to add anyting more then 1 extra component then you would be stuffed. We use alot of comapq machines and in terms of use in an office this is more then adequate to run all your normal programs and operating system, there is the option of upgrading or adding further memory if required, but so far i have not felt the need as the machine runs perfectly. ... They have the internet on computers now?
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 - P4 2.8 GHz by IG88

Advantages: Nice Looking Case, Optical Drves Fit Colour, Nice Processor
Disadvantages: Somewhat low specs, exept P4 processor

Well, HP have moved on to computers now. Even though they only make 0.08% profit on each machine (compared to Dell's 8%) they still reamin true to their cause. As this is a HP machine the case is at a high standard and the optical and floppy drives match the colour of the case. The specs are just OK and the PC could be used for gameing, but not next gen. I think it would struggle with things like Farcry, but the P4 is a nice touch, though some would ... Read review

Great business machine
Review of Compaq Evo D510 Ultra-Slim - P4 2 GHz by pob0782

Advantages: small form factor, cheap, fast, reliable, good support
Disadvantages: lack of space to upgrade

When Compaq was bought out by HP, there was some concern as to the loss of the Compaq brand and a reduction in quality of desktop and server machines. I am pleased to say that this has not happened. The Compaq Evo D510 is a worthy machine and packs a lot of power into a small space. The basic specs of the machine are: 2.4GHz Pentium 4, 256MB, 40GB, CD-ROM, onboard sound, AGP Video, LAN, Modem, black case, TFT monitor Available from £600+vat (even ...
...make sure you ONLY buy Compaq 3 year Care Packs. This will mean that the machine will be dealt with by fully trained Compaw engineers, rather than generic PC engineers, and the part used will be genuine Compaq. By far the greatest use for this machine will be in the business world. In fact I have used this machine myself in 2 organisations, and have never had any major problems. The small form factor is one of the smallest available, and this allows ... Read review

Good computer but needs more RAM
Review of HP Pavilion a310.uk - C 2.6 GHz by stapleton1

Advantages: Fairly fast processor, DVD-ROM drive, Good appearance
Disadvantages: Windows XP Home and 256 MB RAM are bound to cause problems and they do!

This computer would be great as a computer for the kids or as a cheap family computer because it is affordable but still with plenty of features such as two drives - CD-RW and DVD-ROM which means you can easily copy a CD without having to put the media onto your computer. The Celeron processor is OK but Windows XP Home is installed and only 256MB RAM is installed so the computer crashes a lot - even on startup. The easiest and best solution is to ...
...computer works very well. If you upgrade the RAM TO 1Gb, it would really move along. We upgraded to 512MB RAM and the computer now works very well doing average tasks such as internet browsing, emails and average games. The 80GB hard drive is excellent - it has two partitions: the normal C drive and another drive called the D drive which is about 5Gb big and makes backups and restore points. It also has an Intel integrated graphics chip with 64MB ... Read review
