Comapq d530 USDT
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 Ultra-Slim - P4 2.66 GHz by
judson
Advantages: Slim, Optional Stand, Fast
Disadvantages: Only 1 PCI Slot
In all the Compaq d530 USDT is a lovely machine to work on and to support, its slim design limits the amount of deskspace required and also the option of standing it up like a bookend is also another very appealing feature. The machine in general comes with a very fast Pentium 4 2.4ghz dual processor, 256 MB Ram (min) and at least a 40gb hard drive, so there is alot of nice components inside. The only thing that this type of compaq lacks is additional ... ...all so if you wanted to add anyting more then 1 extra component then you would be stuffed.
We use alot of comapq machines and in terms of use in an office this is more then adequate to run all your normal programs and operating system, there is the option of upgrading or adding further memory if required, but so far i have not felt the need as the machine runs perfectly. ...

They have the internet on computers now?
Review of HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 - P4 2.8 GHz by
IG88
Advantages: Nice Looking Case, Optical Drves Fit Colour, Nice Processor
Disadvantages: Somewhat low specs, exept P4 processor
Well, HP have moved on to computers now. Even though they only make 0.08% profit on each machine (compared to Dell's 8%) they still reamin true to their cause. As this is a HP machine the case is at a high standard and the optical and floppy drives match the colour of the case. The specs are just OK and the PC could be used for gameing, but not next gen. I think it would struggle with things like Farcry, but the P4 is a nice touch, though some would ...

hp vectra vl 420
Review of HP Vectra VL420 - P4 1.5 GHz by
swells87
Advantages: Intel's 845 chip set allows PC manufacturers to pair Pentium 4 CPUs with SDRAM instead of more-expensive RDRAM. HP's latest Vectra, with a 2-GHz P4 and 256MB of PC133 memory,
Disadvantages: The speakers integrated into the system case produce lackluster, tinny sound.
Though the vents on the front of the gray and blue desktop are reminiscent of the grille of a Ford truck, the case does sport some features that should prove useful to IT managers, such as chassis-intrusion detection and easy interior access. To open the system, just lift a latch handle and then pop off the top. Inside, you can access the three open PCI slots and two drive bays (one for a hard drive only) without tools. You can insert drives after ...

Great business machine
Review of Compaq Evo D510 Ultra-Slim - P4 2 GHz by
pob0782
Advantages: small form factor, cheap, fast, reliable, good support
Disadvantages: lack of space to upgrade
When Compaq was bought out by HP, there was some concern as to the loss of the Compaq brand and a reduction in quality of desktop and server machines.
I am pleased to say that this has not happened. The Compaq Evo D510 is a worthy machine and packs a lot of power into a small space.
The basic specs of the machine are:
2.4GHz Pentium 4, 256MB, 40GB, CD-ROM, onboard sound, AGP Video, LAN, Modem, black case, TFT monitor
Available from Ģ600+vat (even ... ...make sure you ONLY buy Compaq 3 year Care Packs. This will mean that the machine will be dealt with by fully trained Compaw engineers, rather than generic PC engineers, and the part used will be genuine Compaq.
By far the greatest use for this machine will be in the business world. In fact I have used this machine myself in 2 organisations, and have never had any major problems. The small form factor is one of the smallest available, and this allows ...
