Brilliant BRIO
Review of HP Brio BA410 - PIII 800 MHz by
Twigsby
Advantages: Cheap, fast, stable, AGP slot
Disadvantages: Limited upgrade potential
...* Scroll mouse * HP recovery CD, Drivers CD
* 3 year warranty – First year next business day onsite
There are plenty of variants that can be selected e.g. with or without Word, Celeron or PIII processors, with or without modem or LAN card etc etc.
I think the price is a bargain. For this kind of specification, I simply could not find a better priced PC. The nearest rival would be either some of the Fujitsu lines or the Maxdata - but these ... ...very nice touch is the HP system recovery CD. This allows you to restore the whole system to its original "out of the box" state in something like 30 minutes (remember to back up your data first) which will be a godsend for those of us in a habit of overloading their systems to the point that a fresh install is required.
The initial set up also has an HP diagnostic partition which is accessible on boot up. Again a nice touch, but of more limited ...

Hewlett Packard nice package
Review of HP Brio BA400 - C 466 MHz by
richardcatling777
Advantages: Fully installed and ready to go
Disadvantages: It installs extra software that is not needed
...not needed and were a waste of space and can be uninstalled. Using the recovery disk you can wipe the machine clear and reinstall Windows 98 but it puts these programs back, but they can be uninstalled again. The HP diagnostic tools installed were a helpful and easily presentable feature. ...

An overall good machine
Review of HP e-Vectra PIII 733 MHz by
cedop
Advantages: very reliable, compact, and looks really good
Disadvantages: graphics, too small to add a decent card
The eVectra is pretty good. I got it from a friend, and did not buy it, however, I have been using it to surf the net, do office related work and read emails, as well as play some games. Its quite a decent machine and packs quite a punch given the small size. It has good sound, networking, easy access to the HD if you wanted to replace it - which I did, as well as good overall performance. The one bad thing I can say about it is that the CD drive ... ...not easy to replace. My CD drive is still working, but I do occasionally have problems with some CD's. and In most cases, I cant boot from the CD when I tried to install Linux, but it did boot when I tried to install Win2000.
With regards to the specs below, Like I said, I got this machine from a friend, and so, I cant really comment on the price/manuals/support as I didn't get these. Apart from the CD-Rom and graphics card, the machine is quite ...

HP Pavilion
Review of HP Pavilion 8775 - Athlon 900 MHz by
btco
Advantages: Nice looking, Great first time computer.
Disadvantages: Monitor a bit on the big and bulky side and really heavy
...our house, one is a HP Pavilion 8775, and the other is a laptop. We never use the desktop PC anymore as after buying a laptop its so much easier.
I thought id give you my views on the HP Pavilion, it is a nice computer, we have had it for about 2 years now. It’s never gone wrong.
We bought it from PC World we took out extra insurance get in case of these little accidents, or if it needed repairing, so it cost just under £1300. The insurance still ... ...eyes it was well worth paying the extra to get it covered. With this it came with an Intel webcam, defiantly not the greatest of webcams for wanting to take pictures, they do not come out very well. The webcam is white, and blue looks nice enough, and fits to the top of the monitor.
It also came with a Lexmark Z32 colour printer, the printing was good. We often used it, it was a great printer until the ink ran out and we haven’t got round to buying ...
