Dell XPS 700 I have had the Dell XPS 700 for about 2 years and its still in good working condition! Although i bought the newer verson 2 days ago Dell XPS 730! ...too! It was the first Dell XPS desktop i ever got and its one of the best computers i have ever got! It came with Dell speakers and subwoofer and a 15'' monitor! The only bad thing about it is that its really big and is realy noisey!!! But apart from that it is a really good computer! Advantages: Customise your own system
Disadvantages: Better instructions for Vista

The thing I like about Dell is that you can customise your computer to your own requirements, for example adding a DVD Re writer media card, etc, etc. I've had little trouble with mine (touch wood!). The only problem I had was upgrading to Windows Vista. I was left with minimal instructions and actually found the system slower, until I got down to using it on a daily basis. At one point I considered reverting to XP, but thought I would stick with ...

A Dell technician was supposed to call and explain how to speed the system up but never did, presumably whilst they were getting the Dell support center up and running, better than having to ring India and spent two hours talking to support when my Dell laptop caught a Greek virus and packed up! Advantages: Looks SHARP!!! Has almost everything "IN THERE" (TV, FM,++)
Disadvantages: Not too user servicable.. but then we haven't had problems. Sooo...

...I give kudos to the Acer Group. The Aspire 510 is one we can place in our customers homes. Set it up. Teach the nuances of it and how Media Center works, and move on to the next customer. NO call-back thus far for hardware-related issues. I came about this unit quite by accident. I can't build units fast enough. And we needed a supplier reliable enough to take the strain off of me. ...a time if need be. Acer kept coming up at or near the top of the list. Their Aspire 510 has won awards from third parties that have like me, have no ax to grind. Business is business. The compaq presario desktop computer was bought for me for christmas 2006. I desperately needed a brand new computer that allowed me to do my college work on and had a good memory so i could save lots of work on it. The compaq presario cost my parents £399 and that is not including all the accessories that i needed with it. I would say that it was worth the money because it has enabled me to fully do my college work and it has the capacity to hold ...
...there are always start-up problems/teething problems at first. However these are nothing and do not affect the computer in any way. Appearance wise the comapq is very attractive and fits well on your desk and does not take up 2 much space. It has 7 usb ports and has a free expansion bay where you could have another cd rom drive built in if you wished. It currently has a cd-writer which makes gd quality music cd's and film dvd's.
