Apple iMac G3.. its clear
Review of Apple iMac Indigo - PPC G3 500 MHz - 15" CRT by
jossie
Advantages: Compact, user friendly and designer!
Disadvantages: Pricey and 'un-customisable'
...exclusivity... the fact that only Apple make them (as I'm aware).
P.S. I've never had to deal with customer support directly from Apple so dont know hoe good it is.. they're website is very good though with loads of info on their products, for current users and for customer support (upgrades, patches, faq's etc) ...

Advantages: Ease of use and ease of initial setup
Disadvantages: could maybe be better with a real pentium in it - but I don't really know without changing it
...the purchase - Comet or IBM - I did have to have my printer replaced a Xerox xj6 with a cannon BJC2100 but that could be another op somewhere else sometime. godmasterenglish
Advantages: Compact, Stylish and Simple Mac OS X alternative for modest budgets
Disadvantages: G3 Processor, Outdated, Small Hard Drive and Memory.
...comes with 2 USB ports free (one on the keyboard and one on the side) so you can just grab any USB mouse from your local computer store and plug it in! A great thing about Apple computers is that you don't have to worry about hardware drivers!

My baby and me
Review of Dell Dimension 8300 - P4 2.4 GHz - 17" CRT by
aj4luton
Advantages: Exactly what the doctor ordered
Disadvantages: None - as yet!
...a powerful computer. And Dell told me that they had the answers
When I wanted to have some fun with videos, I asked the folks at Dell to put together the ideal video editing computer system. All Dell systems are built to order, so this was an easy task for them. Here's what they came up with:
Since video editing is a processor-intensive task, I needed a powerful processor: A Dell Dimension 8300 with a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 processor. Video editing ... ...monitor and get the new Dell 5650 5.1 speakers. The package also included Windows XP Home Edition and Microsoft's Works Suite 2004, great!
My computer was a dream machine. I was Stephen Speilhisface and I was crucing along fine with my new computer. The Dell 5.1 speakers blew me away and being such an audio expert the sound quality was crystal (I am not an audio expert!) Its 100 Watts of power blowing me away that's more than in a bad boy racers ...

Our First Computer
Review of IBM Aptiva E 57 - PII 400 MHz - 17" CRT by
hackersupr
Advantages: Great for the time
Disadvantages: Old now :(
...Love at first sight: The IBM Aptiva caught our eyes, with impressive specifications ( for the time ! ) and the new brilliant Windows Operating System Windows 98. My dad was familiar with IBM PCs and soon we were driving home with a shiny well grey PC in the back of our F reg Passat ( old for the time :P ).
Connecting it up: Even now I still remember it well after getting the enormous boxes into the house we tore them open ! It was pretty tricky ... ...the logo screen which read IBM Aptiva and setting the clock the desktop loaded, the PC was ready to take orders from its masters. The PC ran fluidly and with ease capable though running the most demanding applications and the HD light would come on flash like mad and you would be treated to a blue error screen. Normal use was no problem my dad could get Office 2000 to run nicely and I could get Quake III Arena working.
Zoom zoom Zoom: The IBM Aptiva ...
