good stuff
Review of Dell Dimension XPS T450 by
computershopper
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Fairly Slow
I got my Dell a couple of years ago when it was a top of the range PC. The Dimension XPS R450 is a hard working machine with a great spec for a commercial machine. Unlike many companies, Dell do not bundle your PC with tons of stupid peripherals that are poor quality or useless. My Dimension XPS 450 came with a Epson Stylus 640 printer, and no Webcam or rubbish scanner which wouldn't have got used anyway.
This system has 128MB RAM which is all you ... ...a P2 450 processor it is more than fast enough to run any programs available at the moment. The 12.8 Gb Hard Disk has tons of space for the average home user and it comes with a Zip Drive to back up your work anyway.
This system comes with a Toshiba DVD ROM which is great for entertainment. The only problem is that the speakers on this system could be better as they are only just powerful enough to listen to the DVD.
I recently upgraded my system ...

still not beat
Review of Dell Dimension XPS T600 by
eoghanball
Advantages: quality / warranty / solid
Disadvantages: none
I bought my dell pc just over 2 months ago because of a review in a pc mag when it came out tops on the specification offered for the price. I went the whole hog and upgraded. There is still no pcs on the market today which can match the spec.
Despite that, even if they did, i have heard of too many horror stories for high street retailers like Time. There warranties do not come near the collect and return facility offered by DELL along with first ... ...machine apart possibly from the dell modem.
my dvd drive is faster and better than most I have seen. I upgraded to an 8x4x rewriter (sony and a further plethora of quality components not to mention the 192trinitron monitor. Excellent money/ excellent value / excellent quality. Where is your argument? ...

eTower Celeron 700
Review of Emachines eTower 700 by
Bill-S
Advantages: Small mini ATX, upgrades to 933Mhz
Disadvantages: No AGP slot/ two USB 1.0 only/ memory limit
...hasten to add the largely faulted power supply with emachines directly, they use OEM brands for these.
Because you buy it pre-assembled, you are entitled to refunds and servicing of course. Speed issues result from space within the drive, and memory limit issues. 256MB is good for Win9x computers. ...

happy with dell
Review of Dell Dimension XPS T700 by
natachawithoft
Advantages: competitive prices, easy to order, good support
Disadvantages: only saw the product on my computer
...the point, i found the Dell website, and i was saved. It's best feature was that you could input exactly what specifications you wanted, and the price would be updated instantly on your screen. In my case I wanted next day on-site cover for 3 years instead of the one, and that only cost an extra £75 which isn't too much to ask for peace of mind. My computer arrived on-time (and all in one piece), and i could also track it's shipping progress over ... ...thoroughly happy with it. No problems at all.
My tip is that you just have to go ahead and get the best model you can afford, it's no good waitng for a newer, faster model becasue you'll never be satisfied. As long as it's got everything you want, just go ahead and order it. ...

EMACHINE ETOWER 600 DVD
Review of Emachines eTower 600 by
CLH
Advantages: PRICE,WINDOWS ME, EASY TO SET UP,USB AND GAME PORT CAN BE PLUGGED IN FROM THE FRONT.
Disadvantages: NO RESET BUTTON.
...an ETOWER 600 DVD from EMACHINES from PC World (without the monitor) with an Intel Celeron processor, 64mb ram, 15gb hard drive, 12x dvd, 3d graphics and 56k modem.
The salesman said that I would notice a hell of a difference with my new computer compared with my old 486 and indeed he was right! I have read indifferent reports about this computer in the magazines but I am pleased as Punch with mine. The computer looks good, has good clear instructions, ... ...first plugged in except that one of its tiny speakers was not working. Luckily I had some other larger speakers to plug in so that problem was soon "sorted." I have not found it necessary to phone manufacturers support.
One of the many nice things about my machine is that it came with Windows Millennium Edition which impressed me. For instance it was great to be able to watch American news TV stations, BBC News 24 TV, Bloomberg TV, and listen to ...
