Acer Power M5
Review of Acer AcerPower M5 - Sempron 3000+ by
natman859
Advantages: Reliable, Expandable
Disadvantages: Long wait for Technician
The Acer power M5 is a very reliable computer, offers expandability and also has the acer empowering software which allows you to create restore cd's and optimize your pc. After a few months however the hard drive did fail but i had no problems at all with the customer services and in two days a technician arrived, fitted a new larger hard drive and got me up and running again. Overall i have had a good experience with this computer and i find it ...

Free Set top PC with every model
Review of Neoware Eon Preferred 2000e - MediaGX by
dobieg
Advantages: Smaller than a digibox!
Disadvantages: Limited processing power
...a reasonable 'thin client' the Neoware Eon Preferred 2000e - MediaGX could be described as a generic Personal Computer, admittedly with a relatively modest specification, but PC nonetheless!
I came about using a Neoware system from almost entirely the opposite direction from most people.
The unit is marketed primarily as a 'thin client' - the 32Mb ROM allows a linux-based terminal emulator to run which can connect to a number of hosts using standard ... ...emulation, 5250, TV100 etc.
The applications run on a host server, and all the client does is do the media presentation stuff.
On the other hand, looking at the system architecture, it's actually a modestly specified PC in it's own right.
At the core of the system is a Geode processor - a cut down low power version of an nn86 (intel) chip, and incidentally, the same architecture as the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) device which is getting a lot ...

iMac - Amazing
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz - 20" TFT by
benpowell2008
Advantages: Speed, looks, ease of use.
Disadvantages: None
I bought my iMac as I my "PC" was due for replacement and had become unreliable. A few of my friends have iMacs and I was instantly grabbed by the design and ease of use when I sat in front of one. Some of this is due to the software that comes pre-loaded onto the iMac. I went for the 2GB version with the 2.66 Processor as the prices had just dropped. The iMac boots up lightening quick compared to my PC. In around 15 seconds I can be using the system ... ...is extremely clear and at 20 inch - large enough for most people to use as their home computer. I thought I would be keeping the PC to one side to use when the iMac didn't have the ability to do a certain job but I have thrown it away now as everything I need to do works. The beauty of the iMac is that it does exactly what you except. No fuss, first time - every time. It comes pre-loaded with the operating system and iLife08 which had iPhoto, iDVD ...

Jar_Dude
Advantages: Very organized.
Disadvantages: Pricy.
The Dell OptiPlex is a very unique machine, manufactured very well. There are several types of OptiPlex, Ultraslim, Slim, Mini-Tower, and the Standard size. The way these machines were made makes it easy to upgrade, use, and is extremely user friendly. There are a wide selection of monitors available from your standard monitor, to a widescreen LCD. You can customize the keyboard and mouse, operating system, such as Vista, Vista Ultimate, and Vista ...
