...to a power surge (Not Quantex to blame this time!) I phoned the customer service number I dialled for my previous problems and an answering machine told me that they were re-locating so no-one could take my call. This answering machine message went on for weeks. I done my research and eventually spoke to a guy from Quantex. I bought a Quantex PC because of its good value and good reviews. I wasn't dissapointed with the specification of the system, but the technical support was slightly lacking. I had problems from the start with incorrect drivers being supplied by Quantex for the soundcard. The company is American and so is the technical support, so ringing them involves ringing a national number and being connected to the customer service centre in America. This means ...

...a year i purchased my quantex computer, which at the time was a very good buy, for the specifications it had. Their customer services were very friendly and seemed to know what they were doing, they had been kept up to date on everything, which helped order the computer a lot easier. unfortunately, i order just before last years earthquake in the country where the graphics chips are made. this meant i could not recieve the voodoo3 3500 tv out card, ...
...more were in stock or opt for a voodoo3 3000 and recieve a canon printer. i opted for the second choice. then, i was informed that the whole batch of computers had been made with american chips instead of british, which would not support our pal format, so all computers were recalled and rebuilt. this meant that from the time i first ordered the computer, nearly 2months passed before i recieved my purchase. but even still, customer services are helpful ... Dell XPS 700 I have had the Dell XPS 700 for about 2 years and its still in good working condition! Although i bought the newer verson 2 days ago Dell XPS 730! ...too! It was the first Dell XPS desktop i ever got and its one of the best computers i have ever got! It came with Dell speakers and subwoofer and a 15'' monitor! The only bad thing about it is that its really big and is realy noisey!!! But apart from that it is a really good computer! ...nothing special here, quite typical Dell styling - neat and clean, but not particularly eye catching! Finally, high intensity programs such as professional design apps and games, this PC will simply not cope! Personally I would not recommend Dell for this as, having used a number of different models, come no where close to a custom built PC for the same price. ... Read review
