Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFT by coneill3

Advantages: speed ,power,Design
Disadvantages: value for money

...were released. As soon as Apple released the updated Mac Pro in January, I picked one up. After using the iMac for so long, the Mac Pro was like a breath of fresh air. This machine is crazy fast. I loaded 10 GB of RAM into it and can pretty much have all my design apps open (mainly CS3) as well as run Parallels at the same time. I could never do this with the iMac. Overall, I'd recommend the Mac Pro to design professionals looking to run lots of ...
...You'll have to deal with the strange rebooting problem I mentioned above but I don't think it's a deal breaker. I've gotten around this by either shutting my machine down when I'm gone for long periods of time or setting the sleep cycle to never. It's not a great solution (I can't save electricity this way) but I think it's worth it for the power of this machine. ... Read review

Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by ReviewIt01

Advantages: graphics, sound, stability
Disadvantages: ..... none

The Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT is a very good computer, is the graphics and sound systems are second to none, and the fast quiet fan system is no match for any sound proof desktop computer bought from the shelves. The knew iMac has a very wide range of abilities, including running a windows system aswell as it's very own Mac oporating platform. The easy to use tutorials and navagation system on the iMac are very good for people that ... Read review

Acer has aced on this one!
Review of Acer Aspire L5100 - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2 GHz - 19" TFT by RoryGriffiths

Advantages: Everything you could want, particularly amazing multimedia handling.
Disadvantages: Gamers beware

The Acer Aspire L5100 is an economical, yet complete package for the everyday home computer user. Behind it's small, ultra-compact chassis lies a powerhouse in entertainment; the latest spec for modern home theatre, AMD LIVE!, boasts exceptional and smooth management of your multimedia, the main atrraction for me of this Acer product. It exudes elegance and chicness in an understated manner; it measures 25cm by 20cm by 6cm and looks fantastic. ...

If you are not necessarily a gaming addict (top end games could be problematic as the graphics card is not supported by nvidia), but enjoy watching movies and listening to music, as well as using your computer for work, then you get all this through the exceptionally ... Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by Shroud

Advantages: easy to set up and use, quiet running, upgrades well worth the small cost
Disadvantages: getting used to Vista, but that's me

...hubby, who snagged a free Dell lappy during the AOL promo). We looked over the various models the Dell web site had to offer, and decided to customise this particular one. I love to play games on my PC, so I was not willing to settle for the basic onboard graphics that came as standard, so opted to upgrade that bit to the optional ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card. With 256 of power, the graphics are clear, sharp, and utterly beautiful. When playing ...
...chose to upgrade to the Dell 20 inch wide screen model. With its non glare screen and easy tilt to adjust stand features, it does the card justice. Its large enough view DVDs comfortably from seating several feet away, showing nice, clear images that make my TV seem as Flintstone vintage as it nearly is, but not so large that my desk looks overcrowded or that it shouts "Look at ME, I'm FLASH!". Now, my old PC was not the most memory heavy and I had ... Read review

iMac - Amazing
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz - 20" TFT by benpowell2008

Advantages: Speed, looks, ease of use.
Disadvantages: None

I bought my iMac as I my "PC" was due for replacement and had become unreliable. A few of my friends have iMacs and I was instantly grabbed by the design and ease of use when I sat in front of one. Some of this is due to the software that comes pre-loaded onto the iMac. I went for the 2GB version with the 2.66 Processor as the prices had just dropped. The iMac boots up lightening quick compared to my PC. In around 15 seconds I can be using the system ...
...is extremely clear and at 20 inch - large enough for most people to use as their home computer. I thought I would be keeping the PC to one side to use when the iMac didn't have the ability to do a certain job but I have thrown it away now as everything I need to do works. The beauty of the iMac is that it does exactly what you except. No fuss, first time - every time. It comes pre-loaded with the operating system and iLife08 which had iPhoto, iDVD ... Read review
