Devil May Cry is back with it's latest instalment, Devil May Cry 4, and, dare I say it, better than ever. Being a DMC fan from the beginning I am delighted to announce that Capcom have made the transition to the next gen console superbly. All those features that have defined the series so far are back in force. The visuals are stunning and the game play is the typical fast flowing melee driven style that we have all come to love. Capcom have done the right thing bringing this out on the xbox360 and forgetting any exclusivity to one console. This is because they stepped back from the battle between the consoles and have created a game for all to enjoy.
As most fans will know by now the hero devil hunter, Dante, has bee replaced by the new kid Nero. However, to those Dante obsessed gamers, and I can confess I am one of them, do not fret. Though Dante does make an appearance in the game, the new character gives way to new combinations and fighting styles that fans can sink their teeth into. The devil bringer and exceed features are superb and allow the game to be explored to the full extent to discover all combinations and find out what works best for you. And this is complimented by the fact that the game, in typical fashion, allows you to repeat standard and secret missions multiple times, giving players the opportunity to fully explore the world of DMC.
To those new to the series the game offers a "Human" mode (compared to that of "Devil Hunter") which offers a smooth introduction into the style of DMC. However, I would suggest merely the first couple of levels to be played at this difficulty. This is because one; a couple of missions plus the tutorial (where you can practice most of the combos until you get them right) enables newcomers to grasp the combat system quite quickly, and two; DMC4 is a challenging game. This way, I believe, you will appreciate the game to a fuller extent and will soon be loving the latest instalment.
The graphics and animations in the game are outstanding, especially when viewed in high definition, following the pseudo-gothic style and making impressive use of the new hardware provided by the next gen consoles. And can you talk about Devil May Cry without talking about the breathtaking cut scenes that captivate the gamer and indulge you in the story in the best possible way. All this is backed up by the impressive audio, both sound track and effects, and I would suggest making full use of your TV's audio to experience this.
The game play is some of if not the best I have encountered on any adventure game released as yet, and it will be very hard to surpass. There are 20 challenging levels for you to surpass in the world of DMC, with more big boss battles than ever. These are then supplemented by 12 secret missions and a number of unlockable game modes. Nero's exceed feature is a bit tricky to master but you will find your own style to get you through the game, and there is nothing more satisfying than linking combos to reach that elusive SSS style. Fans and new comers alike will enjoy the mixture of sword and gun combat that have set DMC apart and the introduction of Nero's devil bringer gives an even slicker approach to the combat system.
The only things I feel the need to be wary off are the camera angles. Though a part of the series throughout, they do pose some annoying angles that effect only a minority of the play. And, for those of you obsessed with Xbox Live, there's no multiplayer in DMC4, online or off. The only mode to appear on the Live menu is a leaderboard system for mission scores and rankings. I'm afraid the Devil May Cry titles just aren't multiplayer games, and the fact Capcom have steered clear of trying to force this is welcome as it often results in a lacklustre, mediocre attempt.
Overall I would say that Devil May Cry 4 is the must have game of the moment, giving gamers great value (usually being £5-£10 cheaper on the 360) for a quality game that is bound to impress. For those out there that need to fully complete a game within a week of purchase beware, Devil May Cry 4 is not a game to be just bashed out but s there to be enjoyed. And as Capcom state in their thank you in the game's guide the game will provide "many happy hours of discovering brand new chain-combos and your own style of gameplay". And so all I can say to DMC fans is; how have you not purchased this game already, and to new comers; run out and buy it now, and I literally mean run, in order to unleash the devil hunter within!
Advantages: Graphically superb, extrodinary gameplay, the coolest playable characters. Disadvantages: Its shortness
...of those moments. Capcom's famed Devil May Cry series has struck it rich with its newest instalment; Devil May Cry 4. With its epic story, outstanding graphics and the most badass characters you'll ever see, makes this game one that everyone will need to complete their game collection.
To those who don't know of the Devil May Cry series, let me elaborate for you. It is set in a world that's constantly under harassment from the demon world, and always ... ...the price is right.
Devil May Cry, however, does not follow on from any of the prior games, so it's good if you want to get involved with the series; you can just pick this one right up and play with knowing all that goes on. As Devil May Cry 4 is based around newcomer; Nero, whom possesses devil abilities, it won't represent much except some classic characters from earlier games.
This time round, it is set in a distant land where the Castle town ...

Advantages: Ok story, ok, graphics Disadvantages: Short, Repetative, No different from others in series.
The basic story of Devil May Cry is that 2000 years ago a demon called Sparda went against the other demons and devils to save humanity. Sparda saved the world and sent the demons back to Hell. However demons are always coming back to earth and so earth always needs help. Help comes in the form of a Devil called Dante. Dante is the son of Sparda and is actually half devil half human.
In Devil May Cry 4 you play as a new charactor known as Nero. ... ...played any of the previous Devil May Cry series you will not have much to learn or master again and you will feel as though you are just playing the same old game again. The Game is basically exactly the same as previous versions with a different story. I found that after almost each level I completed I would become bored of the repetativeness of the game and have to stop playing. The demons you face are not really a challenge and lack any proper ...

Advantages: excellent gameplay, super graphics, great coombs and moves Disadvantages: short completion time
Well this is the first Devil May Cry that I have played and after downloading the demo from Xbox LIVE wanted this game big time. It's not often I get hold of a game on the day it's released, but Devil May Cry 4 was one of them!
The story starts of with you as a part of an order called "The Order Of The Sword". A group of people who defend the city of Fortuna from hordes of demon invaders. On an occasion when the leader (known as the Saviour) is ... ...and throughout that story of Devil May Cry 4 you will find that the Order Of The Sword are actually looking to manipulate demons in order to make the human race stronger and in the process using Nero's love, Kyrie, against him as he discovers too much.
A nice touch is when Nero effectively dies and you need to continue the game as the man in red, or as Devil May Cry fans may know him...Dante!

Well the storyline did keep me intrigued ...

Advantages: Awesome hack'n'slash gameplay Disadvantages: Repetition of stages and poor unlockable weapons
=Introduction=
I love the Devil may Cry series and bought this game as soon as it was released. Obviously as a lover of the series, I bought the Limited Edition. It features a metal tin, and a small artbook from the game. These are the only differences from the original edition which is quite disappointing, especially when compared to the Animé DVD released for the American Limited Edition.
=Gameplay=
DMC4 features the regular hack'n'slash action ... ...Nero's main weapon is his Devil Bringer arm, which is initiated by the B button. This is one of the greatest ideas ever, I think, as it can be used to bring enemies towards you, which tackles an annoying part of the previous games. The arm can also be used to execute a special attack, which too, is awesome, as the move varies depending on what enemy Nero is fighting. This adds an element of surprise to the game, and as you face new enemies you are ...

Long ago the Dark Knight Sparda rebelled against the dark emperor and waged a one-man war to save humanity. Thousands of years later, a religious organization worships this renowned savior and has taken it upon themselves to rid the world of all evil. Residing in Fortuna, this organization is known as the \"Order of the Sword,\" and is made up of an elite group of \"Holy Knights.\" One day a young knight named Nero witnesses Sparda’s legendary son Dante slaughter his fellow warriors. Has the renowned devil hunter turned his back on mankind? What does this encounter mean for these two individuals?
In Devil May Cry 4, players control the formidable Nero who comes to grips with his newly found power as his beliefs and allegiance are tested. Continuing the legacy of fast paced action synonymous with the series, Devil May Cry 4 pushes the envelope of excellence even further with the inclusion of a new combat system that incorporates Nero’s \"Devil Bringer.\" This new feature has players delivering overwhelming damage to enemies with non-stop combos, while gaining new power for Nero’s right arm. With the PlayStation 3 system\'s advanced graphical capabilities, high definition visuals and intricate detail come to life as players explore new and exotic locales. Amazing visual effects and dynamic action coupled with a complex storyline, provides the very cool, slick and stylish attitude that only a Devil May Cry game can deliver.
