Advantages Good if you don't like shooters

Disadvantages Video play can sometimes seem a little too lengthy

Devil May Cry

Originally released on the playstation one console this game has always been an adventure type role playing game where you roam around defeating demons to eventually face your own. The devil may cry series are mostly on the playstation console as the first can only be purchased on the playstation one and the third can only be purchased for the playstation two (sorry I don't know about the second one) whereas the fourth one can be purchased on either the xBox 360 console or the playstation three (of which I own the game on both).

Where can this be bought

You can pick this game up for around £5 on PS3 or 360 console pre-owned in Game or CEX or maybe even Game station, otherwise I believe it's around £10 if you want it new. You can also buy this game off of places such as Play.com or Ebay and Amazon, etc... it wouldn't be hard to find this game at all.

Gameplay

I haven't played the previous three games so I can only make comments on this game and wont be able to link it back to it's predecessors like I did with the Crash series (sorry).

In this develish game you play as Nero who is half human and half demon as he has a demon harm which he can morph and which glows blue (it gives him extensive powers/strengths). Nero has a big sword on his back which is probably near enough the same length as he is and he carries around a gun. Now you're probably thinking this is a shooter game or something but it's actually not although you can shoot it's not a call of duty type game it's more role play (thank god!). When you start this game you will always see a video clip before the level actually begins and in between play time on each level where they usually last between 30 seconds and about three minutes. The actual gameplay per level itself would be between 15 minutes and an hour so they're pretty lengthy although there are only 12 levels. In each level you need to defeat demons which you'll know where they're near because Nero's arm will turn blue and you will hear a change in the music and throughout each level you will need to collect red orbs which are blood orbs in the game. You can also collect blue and gold orbs which you use to buy things with. The orbs look like eggs with a tribal-ish face on it. At the end of each level you are graded by how well you did and that's the combo for how many strikes you got in a row before being hit and variations in your moves as well as how much you collected in the game (orb wise).

The story line is that the demons have come and Nero faces Dante who is also half human half demon (and funnily enough they look so much alike in the game). Whilst Nero thinks that Dante is against him - Dante actually wants to help fight alongside him and you do play as Dante in a couple of the levels. The mission is to find out who has started the parade of demons and for Nero it's to save Kairie.

I would say that actually the story is good but sometimes it seems a little offside and it's only really the video that keeps you in track with what is actually going on otherwise it sometimes seems all a little irrelevant but that might just be me being blonde.
