Rigger boots, Rig boots, or Riggers, are a particular type of safety boot, which were originally worn by riggers, the men who attended to the rigging on a sailing ship. To be quite honest, I think there are many other types of boot more suited to this job, The boots have since been worn for many more occupations, including Oil Rig workers, another possible origin of the name. dewalt traditional site safety boots

Advantages: good grip, good padding, solid sole
Disadvantages: Expensive, very large and clumsy, where not up to the task in my case.

online at screwfix for under fifty pounds although i reckon this is still alot of money to be paying when the build quality is not up to scratch ( strange from a company with dewalts reputation) I did try a price check but struggled to find these particular boots, although my local builders merchants sells these for 45 pounds. Bottom line is, i was very disappointed. owning lots of dewalt tools i was expecting the same kind of quality but these boots sadly didnt live up to the name and left me feeling i could have bought a pair half the price and probably got twice as long in usage. ...

Review of Dewalt Impact Light Weight Work Boot

Dewalt Challenger Boots, comfy and well made

Advantages: Quick to wear in,comfy,good air circulation, fair price
Disadvantages: I wanted Black ones

I really like these boots having bought several brands in the past like dickies,caterpillar I found these where far superior, without a doubt more comfy and quick to wear in not like some that cause blisters and foot pain. they are well lined and keep your wee feet from getting wet, the base is flexable so you dont feel like your bending the boot. Reasonable price but I would have liked to have paid less but then I think that about most things. Could get them in black slightly disapointed. My feet sweat quite alot at work but these boots have good air circulation and the tongues are quite thick. All in all I would give these boots 9/10 only in the hope I can get some black ones for the 10/10 ...
