...Cartoon Network, I paused at Dexter's Laboratory.
The thing that grabs me about this cartoon is the way it is funny for kids, yet has appeal for adults as well. I would say this is the modern day 'Rocky and Bullwinkle'. I find myself actually rolling around in mirth watching Dexter's antics to prove he is the smartest boy alive, and Deedee's accidental blundering that never fails to spoil Dexter's work.

Each episode, he initially finds himself needing an object that doesn't exist, one he cannot do without. Yes, I admit it, I watch cartoons....sometimes. I'm not really into shows like 'Pokemon' or most of the junk out on today's TV. But when I happened to be channel surfing and stumbled onto Cartoon Network, I paused at Dexter's Laboratory.
Dexter is a boy (about 6-8 I think...I never checked) who has a secret laboratory where he invents the most wonderful things. I particularly love the way Dexter's voice is in a Russian accent, although his entire family is American! Just gives the show a funny edge. Each episode, he initially finds himself needing an object that doesn't exist, one he cannot do without. He then proceeds to invent the pervect object for his problems, and what do you know, they nearly always work!!! Of course, without fail, his sister, the clumsy Deedee, ruins his plans and he ends up lying in a massive pile of destruction. Deedee should get a job as a demolition person when she is old enough!!!
I particularly love the episode where Dexter invents a growth formula, and his sister gulps it. Deedee proceeds to annoy Dexter with her incesive babbling, so Dexter eats some of the mixture to get away from her. Pretty soon, they are both 100 feet high, and resemble monsters from Godzilla, battling and destroying the city!!!!
Of course, this is all just games Dexter and Deedee play, and its all imagination. I can't figure out how much is imagination though. I am sure Dexter has a lab, and a junior chemistry kit, but I doubt that he can make rocket ships and fly to other planets!! Heh, its a really funny show, and I am sure kids love it watching poor old Dexter.
Advantages: Funny, good plots Disadvantages: Modern style might deter people
Dexter's Labarotory is one of the funniest cartoons you are likely to find on Cable, Satellite or Digital.
The quality of the humour and the plots is exceptional for such a cheaply produced show, the characters are all unique and individual, and there is everything neccessary for a good childrens show - goodies and baddies, good versus bad etc. The storylines are alays original and involving and although the humour is designed for kids, adults often ...

Advantages: FUN, APPEALS TO ALL AGES Disadvantages: NEEDS BETTER STORYLINES - FROM AN ADULT P.O.V
There seems to have been a realisation leading to a trend amongst cartoon-makers. The realisation: kids want their parents to watch cartoons with them...
the trend: make cartoons that appeal to kids and adults alike.
The result is a hilarous brand of the most innocent comedy. Kids will love the wacky voices (particularly good) and unusually immpressionst-style (??!!) artwork. Adults (myself included) will be mesmerised by the appeal of something ... ...to adults stems from the fact that...no matter how silly the cartoon is...it was made by an adult...so adults can be silly too...and I guess thats very reasurring.
Dexter is a little boy who lives with his parents and interfering, accident-prone sister, Deedee. In his house he has constructed a secret laboratory. Dexter is an incredibly intelligent young boy-come-scientist, and with his earth-shattering IQ, he can create almost anything- ranging ...

Advantages: funny, cute, suitable for everyone Disadvantages: none
About a year ago, I was flicking through the channels on TV when I came across ‘Dexter’s Laboratory’ on Cartoon network. I was more or less attached straightaway. The cartoon is based on a young boy, Dexter, who has a secret lab behind a bookcase in his bedroom. His lab is a secret to everyone, apart from his older sister Deedee, that it.
Dexter is a young scientist who is often working on experiments and coming up with new inventions. ... ...instantly drawn (you’ll see what I mean if you watch it). It seems to be Deedee’s aim to destroy Dexter’s inventions and cause chaos in his lab. Deedee is a very bouncy character, who seems to be so sweet and innocent. It’s things like this that make Dexter’s Lab worth watching – it really is rather funny. Primarily it is aimed at children, what with being on Cartoon Network, but I myself love to watch it. It has ...

Advantages: Dexter is the funniest hyper-genius kid ever Disadvantages: Repeated alot on cartoon network
Dexter is a 7 year old boy with a amazingly high I.Q. He also has an enourmous secret lab in his house.
His experiments are often brought to grief by his dopey, tu-tu wearing older sister Dee-Dee and often complicated by the rest of his family, his rubber-gloved Mom and his dim-witted Dad. Dexter is beloved of his school teachers and despised by many other kids at Huber Elementary school for obvious reasons. He and his family live in California ... ...could build gigantic machines and atomic powered robots in the science lab instead, you'll know where it's coming from. Dexter has an odd accent, It has been described as Carpathian, Scandinavian or like Dr. Strangelove, it sounds silly but for me the highlight of the show is when he says “Dee-Dee” (you need to watch it to see what I mean)
The show has a look that mutates Ren and Stimpy and Rocky and Bullwinkle with The Flintstones. ...

Advantages: His sis Deedee Disadvantages: His sis Deedee
Dexter’s Laboratory is about a boy genius (Dex), and his annoying sister (Deedee) who is always goes out to purposly irritatehim. He creates machinery and other gadets, and his sister always breaks them. My favourite episode is when they make a musical of how Dex and Deedee came about, and how long/ why she has been annoying him for years on end (and years to come). It’s really funny. My favourite character is Dex, because he’s intelligent, but when ...

Advantages: great shows Disadvantages: can't email
Cartoon Network Plus 1 is simply cartoon network but on hour later, this means that you cannot e-mail or telephone for competitions or any of the like. I tis home of all the great shows like Johnny Bravo and DextersLab. I like DextersLab best because it is like my life in away because I have an annoying sister like Dexter has. The best thing is it is on 24 hours of the day. Very one of my mates thing that the channel is crummy, but it is not ...

watch him trying to pull.
He also has his own on screen radio show TOON>FM which gives viewers the chance to win prizes.
ANGELA ANACONDA
Not as the title may suggest anything to do with snakes but a sort of cartoon come film programme about a girl called you got it who has a real enemy at school in the form of Ninette Manour who is rich and spoilt.
Gina Lash the fat one and Johnny Eranie are her friends and are always out to avenge NINNIE POP as they call her.
Loads of laughs and Pizza eating here but my little one does'nt tend to take to it better for 5+ years.
DEXTERSLAB
Now this has to be my absolute favorite our small but very smart friend DEXTER has a lab in his room that nobody knows about where he creates the most amazing machines and robots but he is always hampered by his annoying sister DEE DEE who tip toes ...

Advantages: LARE SELECTION OF PROGRAMMES TO WATCH, NOT REPEATED TOO OFTEN Disadvantages: CAN BECOME ADDICTIVE!
intelligent that he has a laboratory set up in a secret part of his bedroom ? not just any lab though, a huge extensive one. He has a sister called Dee-Dee ? a really irritating girl who knows about the laboratory in her brother?s room but keeps it secret from their parents after a heck of a lot of blackmail from Dexter. It makes me wonder about the parents ? they have no idea bout the lab ? are they thick or just plain stupid?
The Powerpuff Girls ? where would I be without these? My 5 year old adores them. They are Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom ? created by their ?father? the professor. He created them in a lab using all the ?sugar and spice and all things nice? stuff but accidentally knocked in ?ingredient X? which turned them into the all girl super heroine trio. They each have their own special powers and no ...
