I started taking Dianette 5 months ago as the current pill I was taking (Cileste) was causing bad acne, and other pills i had tried had given me bad mood swings.
I noticed a difference in my skin after about a week, which I was really pleased with. Although i was still getting a few spots, I put it down to not taking my makeup off after a night out! (Dianette wont stop these sorts of spots!) My skin was also less oily and so my makeup stayed on much longer.
After a few weeks my boyfriend said he thought my boobs looked bigger, but I thought he was just imagining it. Then a week or so later i went to put a bra on that i hadnt worn for a month or so and it was tight and cutting in around my back! I went and got myself measured and found I had gone up a whole cup size from a 34a to 34b! I hadnt gained any weight from being on the pill, only my boobs had grown!
Obviously the most important advantage of taking Dianette was that (when taken properly) it was an effective contraceptive and I did not get pregnant.
However I did experience some disadvantages when taking Dianette. Although my boobs had got bigger, they were quite tender and ached sometimes, but they were not hard. Also it meant I had to buy new bras which fitted!
I wear daily disposable contact lenses, other pills I had taken had listed a sensitivity to contact lenses as possible side effects, but Dianette is the only one I have had this problem with. I noticed that my eyes stung and watered alot when I was putting them in in the mornings and my eyes seemed to dry out alot quicker than normal. I did find that using wetting drops throughout the day helped to ease the discomfort, but its a bit of a pain and I ended up wearing my glasses more often.
Finally Dianette did make me feel very down-in-the-dumps after taking packs back-to-back fwithout a break for 3 months, as i was away travelling and it was just easier to not have a period. However I did find that once I was home and had a 7 day break inbetween packs, I felt much more like myself and not so moody and down.
I am going to continue taking Dianette as I find it an effective contraceptive and for me, personally, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Welcome to Ciao. I was on these for a few years after taking Cileste. Can't say I ever noticed my breasts going up a size, but I'd agree about the mood swings. A good first review...Rachael.
