Diazepam
Diazepam tablets can be prescribed by your doctor for a number of things, they cannot be bought over the counter and they are very addictive so you have to be careful how long you are having to take them for.
I have recently been in a car accident and have been prescribed them from the hospital and from the doctor. These are for the anxiety I have been suffering from the crash and for a muscle relaxant as I have severe muscle damage in the neck, spine and lower back region and problems sleeping.
However, these are not to be taken for long periods of time and I will only be taking them for another month at the most.
Diazepam comes in three strengths, 2mg, 5mg, and 10 mg tablet6s. The one’s I have are the 2mg to be taken during the day and one 5mg to be taken at night to help me sleep.
The 2mg tablets are white, the 5mg tablets are yellow and the 10 mg tablets are blue.
The tablets come in packs of 28 tablets and they belong to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines, which promote sleep and work on the part of the brain which is effected by emotion, therefore relieving anxiety after a trauma.
The diazepam tablets are made by TEVA UK Limited in Eastbourne
Before you start to take diazepam there are lots of symptoms which can be affected by taking them and your doctor will look at your file and see if they are suitable for you or not.
You must not take them if your pregnant, or breast feeding.
If you suffer from breathing problems or have sever liver disease.
They are not suitable for symptoms like, depression or any psychiatric problems and cannot be taken if you are on certain medicines.
These medicines can effect you if you are taking diazepam, antihistamines for allergies, chlorpromazine or haloperidol for mental disorders, painkillers like co-poxamol or codeine or tablets for stomach ulcers or if you suffer from alcohol or drug abuse.
They are quite strong drugs and medical advice should be sought before taking them. Your doctor won’t prescribe them if they are not suitable.
To take the diazepam you have to swallow with water, do not chew or crush them up, the dosage is usually 2mg three times a day or 5mg once at night to help sleep. The 10 mg are for more serious cases.
There is also risks with taking them as you can easily forget things, especially if your tired and when I first started to take these with my other two different types of tablets, prescribed to me I was forgetting which tablets I had taken and which I hadn’t, so I had to get a pill dispenser to know that I was taking the right tablet at the right time.
They are very strong and there is no way you should attempt to drive whilst taking these.
There are of course side effects with all medicines and with diazepam the side effects can be difficulty sleeping, loss of memory, agitation, dizziness, double vision, confusion, anxiety, headaches, shaking, problems passing water, vomiting, abdominal pain and depression, to mention a few.
However, this will be explained to you by your doctor and once you star5t to lower your dosage and stop taking the diazepam then things like sweating, difficulty sleeping feeling anxious can be treated with other things by discussing it with your doctor.
To store the diazepam, make sure they are kept well out of reach of children, check the expiry dates on the packaging and do not keep in sunlight or anywhere they could get damp.
The medicine is only prescribed by your doctor for your personal use, never give any top anyone else if you find that you do not need the tablets anymore and have some left over take them to the pharmacist for safe disposal.
Remember they are strong and in the wrong hands can harm others.
I have rated them recommended for potential buyers but they should only be used from the doctor if needed, then I would recommend them for short term use.
Hopefully I will be back on my feet soon and off these tablets, so until then I will be writing a little more on Ciao while I get better.

An excellent tranquillizer and muscle relaxant...
Review of Diazepam by
philipcfromnyc
Advantages: Strong anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant
Disadvantages: Has the potential for addiction...
...goes into spasm, I take diazepam 10 mg. I should point out, in the interests of full disclosure, that I have taken benzodiazepines for well over 25 years; when I was a freshman in South Africa, the campus doctor prescribed clobazam (Urbanol, Frisium) to control these panic attacks. Clobazam was the first of the 1,5-benzodiazepines, and was thought to be less sedating than alternatives such as lorazepam, diazepam, clonazepam, etc. Upon leaving South ... ...once again possible to obtain diazepam (Valium) from doctors in the USA.
I am deeply thankful to Roche laboratories for developing the benzodiazepines (first Librium, then Valium). When I take diazepam, I feel calm and relaxed and am able to go about my daily business without fear of panic attacks, and without suffering the manifestations of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (a diagnosis that was made when I was about 23 years old).
I moved to the UK ...

Life has its uppers and downers
Review of Diazepam by
JoannaScott
Advantages: Makes you temporarily forget your troubles
Disadvantages: Dangerously addictive and will eventually make it all much worse
Diazepam (Valium) is a well known drug, often prescribed by doctors for anxiety, depression, alcoholism (for the alcohol withdrawal stage), insomnia, and certain types of muscle spasms. It can also be prescribed before unpleasant surgical procedures to help relax the patient. It is also known as Valium, Ducene, Stesolid, Diazemuls, Diapam, Antenex, and a few other brand names. Diazepam works by slowing down the central nervous system, and generally ... ...have briefly taken Diazepam for a short period of time, a few years ago, as prescribed by my doctor. We all have tough times in our lives, and one of Diazepam's many effects is to calm the nerves and act as a mild anti-depressant.
They are small white pills, about the size of a small paracetamol, and easily swallowed with water. The effects kicked in the same day I started taking it. The recommended dose was one or two a day, whenever I felt bad. ...

No substitute for therapy.
Review of Diazepam by
xKatieeex
Advantages: Can help over a short time period
Disadvantages: Addictive, not a substitute for therapy
...possibly agoraphobia, I was prescribed Diazepam (54 x 2mg tablets) to help with the symptoms I was feeling until I saw a Psychologist. Two months later and I've still not seen one. NHS waiting lists - a whole other review!
I tend to take 2 before I'm about to go out anywhere. If you are taking them for anxiety or more specifically, agoraphobia - I would take them about an hour before you leave or before you start getting ready to go out because ... ...substitute for therapy, they just stop something short term whereas therapy could help you cope with it for the rest of your life. One other thing, never ever drink alcohol with these. I've been told that Diazepam can be used as a date rape drug, so be careful. ...
